Now, I am trying to post relevance to this topic, but as others have issued their opinions of the system controllers, I will express mine.
First, I own a gamecube and an Xbox, but have also played the PS2, and there are a few things I dislike about its controllers.

By looking at the above picture, you'll notice that, when your hands are on each side of the controller, you must reach in with your thumbs to use the two joy sticks. Now, I know some who don't mind this, but I do. It makes using the controller very clumsy. Of course, this is just my opinion.
The Xbox controller S. A very good controller, just like the originals, which I personally don't mind. Now, notice the difference in this screen shot:
Xbox Controller S
The dual joy sticks are not in the middle of the controller, but right when the hand will be, naturally, especially the left stick. Plus, the start buttons and back buttons are not in the middle of the controller, but under the control pad. Makes it easy to reach. Also, the A, B,X and Y buttons are above and to the right of the right stick, making them easy to reach.
And I agree, the gamecube controllers are great also, probably a dead tie with the Xbox controllers in my opinion.
To post relevant to this discussion:
I am also glad that Halo was made for Xbox as well, and it seems suited for the job, graphics, memory and performance wise. Horay!
But the one thing I could never figure out was why PS2 graphics wise was he worst system. In size it is bigger than the gamecube (length wise at least) so you would think there would be more storage for graphics hardware, memory etc.
All the best,
