On occasion I get this remarkable feeling that I can achieve great things so easily, yet it fades soon after. I've used the question that if and when I die, "how will I feel about my life?". Will I be happy about everything I did? Will I have regrets? Was my life successful?
And this drives me to work harder because I don't want to look back on my life and feel bad about things I never did. It was mildly inspired by something I saw in a newspaper; a nurse did a survey on what elderly people who are soon to die or have a terminal illness regret not doing in their lives.
I just searched for it;
A nurse has recorded the most common regrets of the dying, and among the top ones is 'I wish I hadn't worked so hard'. What would your biggest regret be if this was your last day of life?
1. I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
2. I wish I hadn't worked so hard.
3. I wish I'd had the courage to express my feelings.
4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.
LinkIt's good that I now know from what people wanted to do in their lives so I can make up for what I might regret.
