'Κύριε Ἰησοῦ Χριστέ, Υἱὲ τοῦ Θεοῦ, ἐλέησόν με τὸν ἁμαρτωλόν.'
I see problems on both sides of the spectrum. On the elite side, I see elites who get a hard-on from Ayn Rand and try to justify their treachery and exploitation of other people on the grounds that everyone had an equal chance--which is untrue in many cases, because everyone comes from a different environment with different backgrounds and different capabilities--there is no such thing as an "equal chance". Life deals us a hand--some better, some worse--and we have to make the best of what we get. Many members of the elite get a better hand by stealing cards from others around the table or giving bad cards to others before those others have a chance to respond, and thus "cheat" if you will. On the other side of the spectrum, I think that many underprivileged people in society who have gotten bad hands try to attain equality not by elevating themselves, but by lowering the elite down to their status.
