CoD4 is good and I feel good.
Enjoy your brown and grey military shooter with a cliche and muddled plot and common times-to-death faster than some people's reaction times.
Back then modern shooters were fairly new, and CoD4 managed to pull some revolutionary features out of its hat. It had addictive multiplayer, fun weapons, and a relatively fun plot. Plus, it kicked off the whole pattern of killing the protagonist in a first-person view. I'm sure you would admit the twist where the pilot gets nuked was pretty shocking at the time.
And at the comment about the colors...it's not as if the famed CoD2 was particularly vibrant.
