Subject: Simple fact about competitive gaming

Fair play

Competitive gaming primarily only exists in LoL, Starcraft 2 and Quake Live. All the other games are casual spoofs that promote them self on being competitive, while they clearly aren't.

Competitive gamers will achieve nothing by begging them to make them less random, since that's their intention, to make everyone feel like a winner.

I'm saying this because of the big number of time that people spend on forums like 343i's promoting self explained fixes. While they might think that they are achieving something, they aren't, since this isn't the developer's intention to make the game fully competitive.

I hope that you'll get honest like I did, after witnessing the holy competitive grail of the staff that represent Starcraft and their 100% focus on competition.

I originaly made an account on 07.27.2007 but I wanted to link my GT and made this account. Don't forget your passwords!

Ok, you've got a point. But no, somewhat.

There are plenty of competitive games out there, the problem is that they are not "new".

You're stupid.

Where's CS, Dota, or even Call of Duty? Like it or not Call of Duty has become big on the competitive scene and many people like to watch professional Call of Duty tournaments. And contrary to popular belief Call of Duty DOES take skill and teamwork.

These games aren't competitive. They do not promote fast thinking and actions.

I'm talking about it's lack of strafe and health. You succeed by predicting ( camping ).

Quake live on the other hand...

Name's John. I'm a 21-year-old firefighter/EMT from lolhio who doubles as a die-hard Halo fan. I've been enjoying the franchise since 2001. My favorite iteration of Halo would have to be Halo 2 simply because I never got to experience the joy of a full-on Halo: CE LAN.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Oh yeah, and boot Zome.

That doesn't make it competitive.

Only teamwork at high-level (lol) play. The core gameplay is pretty skill-free. It's really not hard to be individually good at Call of Duty.

LoL is a casual MOBA game. It's beauty is the fact that it is a casual game that can cater to high competition because MOBA games have an efficient system to create game balance. Also, Starcraft 2 is basically dead, as League of Legends has basically taken the splotlight.

Console games are going to be a thing in the past for competitive play, because they offer nothing innovative in their genres. League set a new standard for MOBAs while games like Halo 3 and Call of Duty set a standard long ago for shooters.

The best competitive game I played had to be GvG in Guild Wars. There was so much complexity in its design that it just offered so much to the engineer within me to make teams set for that type of PvP.

LoL is bad and you should feel bad.

LoL is just sitting on the foundations on the competitive scene and gameplay that Dota built in the first place. In fact I even think that LoL is more casual.

I'm platinum in LoL S3 at the moment.
To say that DoTA isn't as competitive is completely wrong.
The player base may be lower, but it's just as competitive.

Because players that are professional in it. ( Carbine/thruster pack ) still end up getting killed by a lucky AR/Promethean vision charge, to say it lightly. You fight the game, not the player.
