LOL... research.
The way I see it unstable people will be unstable, whether they play video games or not.And said unstable people will be more likely to play violent video games. It seems to me people are getting the cause and the effect the wrong way round here.

So wait, unstable people play video games. Unstable people may* become more unstable. Unstable people do bad things. Video games blamed.
'Stable' people play video games. Stable people are fine.
*Obviously not all "unstable" people will be affected by video games.
^The way I see it.That's my point. And the fact that unstable people are unstable to begin with would mean violent games would appeal to them for obvious reasons, so when they do unstable things, people see a correlation, mix up the cause and the effect, and blame video games rather than the individual.
