Love those one of the most cool looking cars ever inside and out.

Thank you, I should have said I had one.
I about killed myself in it a couple of months ago.

Good god! I hope you weren't injured too bad.

I just got a broken rib from the seat belt, but thats all! Thankfully no one was injured other than me, I got a citation for reckless driving though which just made the day 10x worse...

What happened, if you don't mind me asking?

Was probably my problem with it. I'm assuming later models don't have flooding issues, or at least, not as bad of a flooding problem? I remember talking to someone who owns an 04 model, and he was telling me all sorts of things I'd have to do to make sure it didn't flood.

2007 Mazda RX8
I love those and rotaries. I would love to own one even though they do have some slight annoyances.
Slight? LOL
Honestly the RX-8 is pretty reliable if you maintain it properly. You may have to put a little more effort into it but if you keep it up it should be pretty good.

This is very true. I can bet you most people who have had problems with RX8's either treated them like normal engines, or had an '04/'05 model (which are the ones with most of the bad rep). You also have to consider the rotary engine itself only has about 3 moving parts, which was one of the drawing points for me. I don't know if I just had bad luck, or it was the fact that my first 2 cars were older/had more mileage, but I've had better reliability and fewer problems with my RX8 than both of my other cars combined.
Yeah most people don't know about the little quarks of the rotary. I would have bought one but I Couldn't find one in my area.

I can turn my '07 on and right off again with no problems, I haven't flooded once. I'm not sure what they did to fix what was causing the flooding, but it's something I've never had to worry about.

I guess it was just a combination of me being tired, stupid, and partially Asian.
I was just in a hurry to get home after work because my friend wanted to play Halo 4 (before I realized the game is pretty awful). Anyway I saw this Mecedes (insert letter number combo(not sure what kind)) was speeding about the high way, I decided to do the same, I tried to get in between a couple of cars to pass, lost control, hit a barrier, and ended up on the other side of the high way... I was the only person involved in the accident, so the cops assumed I was retarded, and I guess they had every right to haha.

They must have fixed the problems, I guess.

What I remember the guy telling me:
- When you start it up, rev it up to around 3000rpms for around 10 seconds.
- Have it up to around 6000rpms (or 9, I can't remember. I do remember him telling me the rpms are at 1/3 of what it says. So, for example, 9000rpms is actually 3000, or something like that.) at least once every time you drive it.
- Never shut it off if you weren't going to be out of the car long
-When you do shut if off, rev it up to around 3000rpms for 10 seconds again.

Well there's been a couple but I wanted a red one with balck and red interior and I couldn't find one like that. I got like with my 914, it came up was the exact color I wanted and everything. With my area it's just luck of the draw.

I know I just bought my Mustang, but I really want a Toyota Hilux to have for snowy/icey/bad weather days. I can get an 80's model for around what you paid for that Porsche.

I could of done that but couldn't even find one with black/red interior, usually if they have that interior they're red anyway.

The only part of those that I pay attention to is revving up the engine to redline once a day or so. It's just for engine health though, at a certain RPM limit something opens up that allows carbon build up to be expelled from the engine.

Other than that I agree with you, I wouldn't touch an older RX8 with a 10 foot pole. If I ever buy another one it'll be a newer R3 edition.

Aw man, how's it run? I want a V8 but the insurance is going to be through the roof, so I have to settle for a V6. Not that I can't be picky, but regardless I'm going to make some modifications to it. No ricing, though.
