Subject: Do the animations in recent Halo games seem a tad... stiff?

I wanted a gumball so I said "Yo devil you got change for a soul?"Satan appeared and said "Yeah, yeah mosuckra! I got yo change right here just sign this contract and I'll give you your quarters!" So I signed it, lost my soul, and got 4 quarters. I have never regretted this decision.

I make coups, they are fun to make. Want me to make you one? Just ask I'll see what I can do.

It's something I haven't noticed until, but ever since Reach it seems like enemies have become rigid with concrete armor or something. Take the Elites, in Halo Reach and Halo 4 that even when moving and strafing they are in almost the same static pose with only their legs moving, made even weirder by how fast they accelerate. Contrast this to Halo: CE, where the upper bodies of the Elites seem to organically bob up and down with each step they take.

Maybe I'm going cookoo, but has anyone else noticed this or any other discrepancies in other long running game franchises?

''I want people to be sincere; a man of honor shouldn't speak a single word that doesn't come straight from his heart. ''

I think Reach's animations were superb.

The elites in Reach move like that to make it harder for your shots to hit them. Other than that, their in game animations are very smooth. Watch it in theater, when they evade and dodge stuff.

halo 4 sucks.

You're definitely cookoo.

Well halo 4 DID steal a lot from reach so it doesn't surprise me.

No, I haven't noticed this but thinking back the Elites in 4 did seem a bit stationary.

Besides Reach, they were always pretty stiff and robotic.

What house has a rocket pod, has legs, and has a long narrow barrel that probably shoots something powerful?

Sounds like you're describing the lower half of my body, actually.

Actually, 343 used the same code of animation from Reach for Elites. It was a copy-paste. They didn't try to improve it or anything. They were more worried about looking the best graphically on the Xbox.

The plural form of Elite is Elitei, like Elite-Eye.

Wut

OT: Elites looked weird riding them in Halo 3. The Spartan models would at least shift their weight slightly when turning. Elites just turned and didn't move their upper body.

Technically, it's Mong-Eye-Eee, like Mongiee.

Also, technically speaking, the plural form of elite should be Sanghellei, like Sang hill Eye.

Haven't noticed that actually.. Looking at a few videos and they just sorta swivel like a machine or something.

If you want to get technical in the technologically tech sense, the plural and possessive form of Sengheilli is Sangheilies.

Pronounced, Sang-Hill-Eee-Is.

For those who wish to contact me on Xbox LIVE, my main account is "The 7th Taco", and the one linked with my profile here is only a backup.

Doesn't bother me too much, but yeah, I definitely notice it at times.
