Besides Thorin you can't tell them apart at all. Worthless characters.
Of course you can. There's the head dwarf, the bald dwarf, the fat dwarf, the Brian Cox dwarf, Kili, the wimpy dwarf, the wimpy dwarf's dad, the dwarf who looks like the fat dwarf, the old dwarf, Kili's brother, and a couple of other dwarfs.
Obviously they look different. The fact that none of them have any real personality and are basically goofy set pieces make them bad characters.
Sadly, this is true. The only dwarves in the book with any significance are Thorin and Balin. Maybe Bombur occasionally.
Fili and Kili are in a way They were {SPOILERS} the only dwarves in Thorins Company (besides Thorin to die in the Battle of five armies, because they defended their uncle to the death.
This is why I'm thankful Peter Jackson is giving their characters more significant roles, it'll make for a more tragic last stand. [SPOILERS] I find it funny how the three dwarves destined to die were made to be the most attractive ones (not my opinion).
