That was Plato's version of the character Socrates, though; not Socrates' own writings or thoughts.

Yeah I know, I was just talking about the character and to some extent that'd portray Plato as well.

Not the biggest fan of Plato, although he does have some really interesting methods for his perfect state in the Republic. I prefer Aristotle because he uses empiricism which makes this more straight forward and agreeable IMO.
