The Game of the Year edition with all DLC was only 4 dollars on steam, so i nabbed the sucker. I already know a little about the game from friends, and the story and setting looks facinating. However, the graphics look like- well im just not going to even say it. That brings me to my question, should i start it vanilla or should i get visual improvement and debugging mods from the start? And if so, which ones should i get and where can i find them?

Your average nice guy on The Flood.... D: ..... WAIT A MINUTE....

I'd try it out vanilla, but if it's really that irritating to you, install the mods. I personally like the old school graphics. There's a charm to them.

You can get the Morrowind Overhaul 3.0 to start out.

Yeh completely, for me, the models are better, in their design, than any of the later games, however, the actual definition, shading etc. makes them look worse.

If you where to take the Morrowind style of Daedric armour, and put it into Skyrim, giving it the quality of Skyrim's graphics, but with the actual design of the Morrowind daedric armour, it would look phenomenal.

The game is so intricate, with a plethora of items, and is so detailed, 100X more so than Skyrim and Oblivion.

Enjoy your first play through OP, it has magic within gaming beyond what I have seen since. Finding my first Daedric item (The gauntlets, exploring the far more interesting lore of the Dunmer, and Morrowind, with Indoril Nerevar, Voryn Dagoth etc. and the attitude, and almost culture of fear instilled by the temple, makes it possibly the greatest game, certainly the greatest setting of all time!

If you have Oblivion, you can get Morroblivion, which puts Morrowind on the Oblivion engine. There's also a Skywind project out now that puts Morrowind on the Skyrim engine, but I'm pretty sure it's not complete.

I know about that project, but i'd rather stick to the origional engine. I'm just asking for mod recommendations.

The 3.0 overhaul looks beautiful, but is a little more than what i was looking for.
