Ha that's pretty cool. I meet one person but it wasn't by accident.

In the thread that you linked to the guy identified the fellow floodian from his shirt. While this is a good indication that the person is from the community, the chances that a fellow bungie community member would be wearing a bungie shirt on the day and moment that you saw them is slim.

Wouldn't it be cool if as a community we could come up with a discreet indicator ,but noticeable to the trained eye that could be sported at all times that could indicate in the same way that the shirt did. Imagine the connections that could be made. It would be quite cool to be able to connect to more people without having to constantly openly flaunt the fact that we are also in the community.

Can someone tell me what's wrong with these two, this made me LOL hard.

My friend is a Bnet community member, or was at least. He just went to BCT today.

Close, but the plague killed those infected with it, and the ignorant are still alive.
I wish ignorance was a plague.

I have a friend who posts here.

I've met up with a couple members.
I live in NYC, so that's an easy spot for meet ups (hint hint).

Hey I am a big Bungie fan ever since I played Halo 2. I love the series, I love Bungie. I have made a few Bungie logos in my metal shop.

At the Halo 4 midnight launch a guy had a burn bright burn blue t shirt, and I was like nice shirt. And we just talked a little about Bungie.

Well, here we are. I guess that it was destined to come to this.

Other than arranged meetups and gatherings such as PAX, I've been spotted and recognized a couple of times. Twice in airports, and a few times at game-stores when I was wearing something Bungie-related.

I recall one time at a Gamestop (I think that I was pre-ordering H3) was wearing a Bungie shirt and someone in the store asked me if I was on the forums. I told them who I was, they didn't believe me, and I pulled out my old XBL Diamond card (used to be for discounts and had your gamertag) which had a name of "Recon Number 54". It was the only time that I've "gotten carded" in a Bungie related way.

Anyone but Foman. He smells like cheese.

Outside the context of someone coming up to me at PAX or LAN parties and saying "hey I know you," accidental meetings are pretty rare.

I did run into A Ghuta at Reagan National Airport once. Unfortunately, we were both running to catch flights, so it was just a quick "hello."

Another time, I was wearing a Superintended t-shirt and a waiter at a restaurant I was eating at recognized it. We chatted for a few minutes and it turned out he was an occasional poster on Bungie.net, but not a regular.

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

Yes.

We're related though so I don't think that counts. :x

The first thing I ask every person I come into contact with is what their Bnet name is. If they are confused, I walk away aggressively.

I have some friends that come here, but they came mostly for stats and have jumped off since the transfer to Waypoint. Now I think I only have one friend that still comes here, and he don't frequent.

A guy at GameStop was talking about the forums here and I said something. The manager hopped into the conversation and I said who I was and said he might have seen me posting, then I pointed at my Bungie shirt and said that was my avatar. The customer didn't know but the manager actually knew me and said he's seen me post.

Cool story, I know.
