But then we are back to the point were he shouldn't have bought a product from someone without physically seeing it and inspecting it. I'm not saying not telling him it was half eaten wasn't wrong, but to me it seems they are both at fault (but more so the buyer)
"Hey sis, you know that pepperoni you have in the fridge? I'll give you $5 for it."
If she knew it was half of a pepperoni, then she could/should have told him. Because he was talking about THE pepperoni, not the fraction that was left.
Now, if she had eaten like 1/4? No worries, who can resist pepperoni? But half requires some measure of forthrightness.
Personally, I wouldn't have been able to sell the pepperoni without telling him it was already half gone. Same thing goes with anything else I have sold. If somethings different /wrong, I tell the potential buyer. So yes, in my mind, it should have been stated when he asked about it.
Call me paranoid /overly cautious, but when ever I buy something, be it from family members, friends, or strangers, I ALWAYS check out what I'm buying before I give over my part of the deal.
I'm sure you've run into people that are selling a product you intend to buy only lightly hinting at something that's wrong, or not even saying it at all.
