Burrito, you never cease to amaze me, you read my mind.
Great minds think alike.

Well Bilbo held on to the Ring without giving into it's temptation for 61 years. Frodo held onto it for less than a decade before he gave in.
My roommate is a huge LOTR nerd. I asked about this and he said it
was because there was far less evil in the world when Bilbo found the ring. That is why he could endure so much longer.
Mind you, my rebuttal was that Frodo was still a whiny -blam!- to which he
had no response to give but agreement.
Frodo also had many stupid moments, why would you side with gollum over Sam, even if Sam did eat the lembas.[/quote
That doesn't happen in the book. Frodo is with Sam the entire time. Gollum attacks Sam in Shelob's lair and Frodo runs on while Sam beats up Gollum. When Sam tries to catch up with Frodo, this is when Shelob stings Frodo.well thank god that the cannon GFrodo isn't such an idot. Its been so long since I read the books, that I litterally cannot rember a sentence from the book.
Yeah, it's hard to remember. And then you go and watch the movies and you don't remember what happened in the books.
