Subject: What side did you pick in Skyrim?

My name is from Star Wars. Now you know.

Feel free to follow me on my twitter and stalk me.

Empire. The Stormcloaks are egotistical, racist bigots. They will be unable to withstand the Aldmeri Dominion's full force in the end. The Empire will be able to fend them off now that they know what they're really up against and have had time to consolidate the remainder of their forces.

Tullius even mentions that war with the Dominion is nearing and is inevitable if you follow him and talk to him after the final battle in Windhelm.

I really hope there is a big expansion for it

War never decides who is right; only who is left.

Stormcloaks. The Empire has no right to strip its subjects of freedom of religion, and Ulfric won his High King status in the traditional way-by killing the old High King.
Anyone who says the Stormcloaks cannot fight the Thalmor seem to forget the fact that I am the Dragonborn, and if I can kill the very embodiment of the apocalypse (Alduin) I can take on a bunch of -blam!- elves. Whoever I side with wins.

That's what I'm hoping for. Especially since Red Mountain and White Gold Tower in the base game are visible via very low-res textures in the distance. Dragonborn added Solstheim, an area in proximity to Red Mountain. If they are going to follow any sort of pattern, I believe that would be it and we would be fighting in the Imperial City/Cyrodil against the Dominion.

I would love to go back to Cyrodil again

Empire.

Ulfric is a dick.

Agreed. I just wanted to kill that guy.

Don't judge a book by its cover, unless it has bacon on the cover, then it is a good book.

-Me

Depends on the character. Most of the time though Empire

  • 01.01.2013 8:52 PM PDT

Stormcloaks, why would you help the Dominion? A rebellion would show they are weak and can be overthrown.

Stormcloaks.

Hate the Empire.

  • 01.01.2013 8:52 PM PDT

I've played on both sides, but prefer the Empire.

Agreed. Hopefully they will fit that war into one massive final DLC. I would pay almost anything for that.

Doubt it. There is a 2 GB limit on DLC. Then again Skyrim is only 3.6 GB on the 360

Killed them both, because they are nothing more than walking bags of exp. Neither side was particularly compelling, and I know that they did a terrible job selling the entire Civil War thing, so I never felt like investing myself.

Looking for clan that isn't too serious? Then join the ODST 501st Airborne Battalion. Go to http://www.501st.forumclan.com for more info.

Empire. Ulfric annoys the hell out of me.

  • 01.01.2013 8:58 PM PDT

Signatures are for little kids.

Haven't picked a side yet but I think I'm going to go with the dudes at Solitude.

  • 01.01.2013 8:59 PM PDT

Empire because solitude is better than windhelm imo.

I still killed the emperor though :p

Empire. There was some extensive thread at one point giving game evidence while the Stormcloaks were bad in fact.

That's true, but who knows. A full scale war would likely warrant a release of a full game. I think that would make that game the first direct sequel to an Elder Scrolls game. Then again, they may leave it vague and make the next non-ESO game set far flung into the future from Skyrim with the war nothing but a footnote.

  • 01.01.2013 9:01 PM PDT

Also, if you side with the Empire, you really can't join the Dark Brotherhood.

Always the Empire, Stormcloaks just seemed like dumbasses with large egos.

This.

Plus I heard all the towns turn into -blam!- holes if you side with the stormcloaks.

^This. The Stormcloaks are narrow-minded pricks who are ultra-conservative to the point where anyone who isn't a Nord is treated like crap.

If you're a non-Nord citizen in a Stormcloak city, it is terrible. I'm looking specifically at Windhelm. I chose the Empire just to kill Ulfric and place Brunwulf Free-Winter in charge, as he is an honorable and just ruler who ends the racism towards the non-Nords.

Without The Flood, I wouldn't know what an opinion is.

The Empire, because the Ulfric and the Stromcloaks are jerks.

Untrue. I did the entire Civil War questline for the Empire and then Dark Brotherhood. Killed the Emperor and no mention was made at all of my connection with the Imperial Legion. Shame, really. It would have made things far more interesting.

I know that through the actual game mechanics you can, but that's not what I was saying. See, when I play any RPG, I like to RP the hell out of it. No fast travel, no skipping dialogue, etc. So it would totally break immersion for me to be an Imperial Dark Brother.

Muffins are just ugly cupcakes

I went with the Empire. They're not bad themselves, it's the Thalmor that I direct my hatred towards.
