A 2004 Honda Accord, to be exact. I would have somebody do it for me, but the cheapest place I can find charges $150 for the work I want done, so I'm just going to do it myself. New head unit, dash kit, and four speakers. Pioneer to be exact :)

Anyway, the point of this thread is to ask if anyone here frequently does work on their car, and if there are any tips you can give me. Thanks, Flood

Please tell me the car is in good shape. Because I hate when people try and place a kick ass sound system in a broken down car. It's like a haunted house getting a new chandelier.

You look like a handsome drug dealer

I have a '99 accord, and I just put in a new radio unit into it less than a week ago.

I had to do some soldering because I had to attach an adapter to it. Here's a pic.

You'll notice that some wires aren't used. That is normal. Also if you have any questions about which wires go where, call the manufacturer of the unit. That's what I did, and their info was more accurate than what I found online.

@ultra

It's in very good shape, actually. It only has around 38,000 miles on it and I've only had to take it to the shop once, to change my transmission fluid. I take care of my vehicles.

That looks a lot simpler than what I have to do. The way my car is made prevents me from just simply changing out the head units. I have to pull apart my entire dash board, install my new kit because my radio and A/C controls are combined into one unit, and separate the wires accordingly. A lot of work for a first timer :/
