Halo is a run and gun type of game. I don't think it would be hardly used. And switching to third person to me is kind of cheating.

that would be interesting though. still in first person mode while looking around corners. that would certainly seem more like you are in the game if they move the cameras right.

I wouldnt. Like they said, Halo is a fast paced game. You'd be dead before you could see whats on the other side unless there camping, which theyd probaly see you on the motion tracker 8P

It wouldn't be hard to pull off, if they were smart they'd implement it so that when you walk up to a wall and walk towards it you would turn your back to it and then be able to lean in either direction just like GRAW. But I'll tell you why it would be horrible for multiplayer, because its awfully cheap. Imagine 2 people leaning around either side of a doorway, how impossible would it be for someone to go up a corridor or hallway with 2 guns (probably SMGs or even shotguns) blazing at them when all they have to shoot at is potentially the gun itself and maybe a bit of someone's head? Not much fun.

peeking is cheap in multiplayer, as it was already mention. Plus it gets annoying when you are strafing someone around fire and all of a sudden you back up against the wall automatically. If there was peaking there would have to be a button for it. What button? one of the d-pads? Maybe. I think there can be better uses for the d-pad. Peeking isnt needed. This isnt a stealth cover type of game. Halo is fast paced, and making Halo similar to GR is a bad thing.

"Thoughts are the shadows of feelings; always darker, emptier, and simpler."

There is a gun from GR2 that u can peek around corners with without your body showing.

Guys, why look around corners?

Multiplayer:

Some guy has the bomb and is looking for a way to plant it.
He looks around corners which takes a lot of time.
Before he knows it he has been spotted because it took to much time.
Then he's dead.

Single Player:
Why look AROUND a corner if you could just strafe left and right?

if u think about it it could be pretty usefull like in CTF ur team has the flag and the flag carier ran under a small bridge........2 of your team are peeking around the corners making sure that no one fallows him and if they do jsut shoot some lead into them and try slowing them down this would also be good bc while everyone else is running head on with everything uncoverd making them an easy kill ur sitting there with only 2 hands and ur head sticking out so its will prob take alot more than running head on to kill u

in single player jsut imagine on legendary (in halo 2 if u went head on into a room while on legendary ud most likly die bc u didnt know where the enemy was or how many there were or jsut under estamated how strong they were) u could use the peek feature for an advantage tagging opponets before they even figure out where u are making legendary alot mroe tactical and easier for those who want to beat it

NO. Gimmicky and detracts from the simplicity of Halo's gameplay. Adds a fussy mechanic which would take away from the pace of the action. Bad all round.

If it was similar to how Ghost Recon Advance Warfighter works it would be cool... I traded the game in though cause you could peek in the campaign, but you couldnt in the online/multiplayer. Totally retarded...

It'd be a nice edition to the realism of Halo... because, you ARE part of the military, that is a tactic.

yes true, i wouldnt be peeking all the time, and it will be third person view, u cant peek in first person.

actually, you're wrong. you can peek in first person. Thats how it is in all the ghost recon games. If they did put in peeking, it would be in first person.

no...it would be more like ghost recon then halo

  • 07.07.2006 1:16 PM PDT

"I'm hungry..."

I think it would be a good idea, because its not THAT ghost-recon-ish. The buttons to do it would be the left and right directional pad buttons. When you press one you just lean slightly in that direction. No biggie, useful if you are sneaking around.
