Subject: Would a suppressor work with incendiary rounds?

Suppose there is a very large wooden building which you want to burn down, but for some reason you can't get close to it or do not want anyone to see you. I am not referring to a barn, yet something larger.

Would a long range rifle with sound suppressor be able to work fine with incendiary rounds or is there some effect caused by them that would not allow such?

They're called tracer rounds I believe, and you need a license for both in 'Murica

Hold on, let me see if FPSRussia has a video about this.

A Suppressor works by slowing down the bullet velocity. As long as the suppressor is clear and the bullet fits, it should work.

I am sure there is some sort of distinction between the two.

Also, a license does not concern me.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

It should work. Suppressor work by slowing down the bullet velocity so as long as the suppressor is clear and the bullet fits. It should work
I don't see a reason that they shouldn't. Unless space magic comes into play and makes the bullet larger.

I thought you were talking about the halo 4 suppressor

I very much doubt they would see me clearly from 400 meters away on the roof of another building with a mask on.

Thanks for the other answers Floodians... I need to load some mags now.

It would be pointless. If you have ever seen the rounds coming out of an auto weapon, you can obviously see where it is coming from.

Someone seeing where the shots are coming from, which is unlikely due to the time of night and location, does not concern me so long as I am not identified.

Also, it is a bolt-action rifle. I can say nothing more.

OP, for your mission you would specifically want to avoid tracer rounds. Every few bullets one leaves a highly noticeable trail. This is to help you see where you're shooting, but it would draw attention to your location.

I am assuming you are just an idiot who knows nothing about how bullets work.

If you can see one bullet, you can locate the position.

It would be pointless.

The who wishes, fervently wishes

It would do something, but it wouldn't be as effective when not using cold-loaded ammo (less gunpowder so the rounds are sub-sonic).

And why are you asking OP?

  • 01.02.2013 12:13 AM PDT

Are you guys really helping him with this? I honestly cant tell if he is joking or not.

A position of a shooter is only valuable if the shooter is restricted to that location for a decent period of time.

I have an escape plan. Don't worry about that.

That's obviously what he's been trying to imply this entire thread...

Anyway, OT: Will these incendiary rounds even light a barn on fire? They'll probably just go right through the barn, no?

Sound draws more attention at night that something visible. More attention to something illegal = more response to something illegal = higher chance of getting caught doing something illegal
