The Flood is a necessary part of B.net

All the jerks come here, and stay here. Nuke the flood, and suddenly the community forum would be full of meatspin shock links.

We're like little flood spores, and the Flood forum is our containment facility. Nuke it, and we migrate to the other forums and ruin the entire website.

^This is the best analogy I've heard to describe The Flood, and it's so true.

Why does everyone in the flood act like there is some giant wall that separates them from any other forums?

You know you are one click away from going there and posting, right?

Aw -blam!-..
Haha -blam!- that link came out of nowhere.

A competitive players main goal is to win.
A casuals main goal is to have fun regardless of whether that results in a win or loss.
It has nothing to do with individual skill or knowledge, it has to do with the reason you play.

I got a couple of regrettable tattoos but, you can't see 'em when I wear a black suit.

We're not even that bad. You won't find that much nicer of an Off-Topic forum anywhere else.

Reading through some of these posts I find myself laughing actually. In a good way though; some of them are rather humorous.

In all honesty though, I'm not seeing this blatant hostility that the thread described. I've been here for over a year and this thread has a LOT less hostility than other threads I've been to. I wasn't here in 2008 so I can't say what happened then, but honestly this thread is pretty mellow for the most part.

The Flood was a lot darker back then, it was a lot worse as well. I do still think that we could lay off on the level of hostility, but I also level the fact that it has gotten better over time.

From what I have seen... the Flood is at it's darkest right now, Halo 4 left most of the members jaded, the gaming industry is continuing to pull every last bit of soul gamers have left in them, and all we ever see in these threads is someone posting a link to a news article about some mass killing. It's oh so very dark indeed!

If you're a zombie and you know it, bite your friends.

The Flood Theory of Deterioration: q(p)=(qi)e^(-p/r)

Where q(p) is the quality of the thread as a function of p posts, (qi) is the inital quality of the first post, p is the amount of posts and r is the e-peen of the original poster.

To be honest I find it rather sad that anyone thinks there are too many jerks on The Flood. Either they have no sense of humour, or they can't take that a lot of people don't take their, or more likely their girlfriend's, threads seriously and just start to make jokes in them instead.

I keep on getting in conversations with a person who calls me John.

I hate the Flood. Oh so much. But I hate Community a LOT more.

Remember those times when we all had something better to be doing, but didn't do it? Those were good times. Gooood times

Those people down at the community forums over react to every day threads here... Some of us actually like talking about things that AREN'T Bungie related, you know

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

This is pretty much my way of thinking. The Flood has always been like this. Look back at some of the big threads of the past and you'll see that pretty much nothing except for some older member's grammar will change.
