Subject: Possible Destiny Announcement/Trailer Debut dates

BAM said the lady

Alright, here are some of the game conventions and their dates that are coming up in 2013, these are in no particular order:

We got the GDC (Game Developers Conference): March 25-29
http://www.gdconf.com/

Next we have PAX East: March 22-24
http://east.paxsite.com/

Then of course we have E3 2013: June 11-13
http://www.e3expo.com/

Now personally I don't think it will debut at E3, I think June is WAY to late to announce a 2013 game. Also they might not even announce it first at a game conference, they may announce it here on Bungie.net! (I wish). Or on TV, or something. Discuss here, where/when do you think Destiny will be announced?

Also I'm sure there are more, please add them in the comments below and I'll ad them here.

I'm gonna finish it. Just like Jigga did to the pyramid.

I'm not sure, no reason to get hopes up when you could end up being disappointed.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I don't see how it can be past January, I am hoping for an announcement this week or next week.

GDC could be the magic moment for them to release sweet info. I'm crossing fingers.

I don't think they would wait that long to announce it if it is coming our this fall.

Also Deej said "the light was at the end of the tunnel" and hinted at coming out of darkness in the last mailsack which he has never done so much of before, so I think it has to be soon.

I hope that we'll at least get a trailer by the end of winter.

I bet we will get a trailer before the pentathlon.

It does seems strange that we've heard virtually nothing about a game that is going to be shipped this year. I'm wonder if it will be a big E3 announcment at the same time as the new consoles.

E3 is close to when the game would supposedly be released. By that time they would have like less than probably 3 months before it is to be sold in stores.

I think if it isn't announced this month or the coming weeks it is not going to be released in 2013.

Deej practically said the announcement trailer was coming in the mail sack. There was a ton of hinting and subtle phrases.

Deej does a very good job of incorporating many subtle messages that almost go unnoticed, like a bunch of inside jokes.

What if they did it during the Superbowl? That would be sweet, I don't think I've ever seen someone suggest that before.

That is a lot of money to spend on an ad

PS
No, I do not want to join your clan/group.

I'm done speculating on when Bungie's going to give us a trailer/full reveal; every guess so far has ended in disappointment and the bottom line is that they'll reveal it when they feel like it, regardless of if that date corresponds with a major gaming convention or not.

You know, before the Halo 4 release on U.S. Elections day, I wouldn't have ever thought that something like that could be successfully pulled off. Now I'm starting to rethink how release dates can coincide with major cultural milestone dates. Personally, while I don't hate football, I just don't find it that entertaining, and I would LOVE to have a much anticipated game release on a day that's otherwise given over to a drudgery of horribly off color commercials and a rabidly watched but personally disinteresting event.

This world wants to drag you down... And the weight, that guilt they want to hang around your neck, you don’t have to carry it one more step. You think they won’t let you rest, but it’s not up to them. It never was.

Bungie doesn't even have to announce their game at an event. Not every game does. So it could be sooner than March.

I think if Bungie wanted to announce their game at a major event, they would of done it at the VGAs.

I am hoping soon (anywhere from a week to mid January) Bungie will announce their game.

  • 01.02.2013 12:54 PM PDT

Don't forget "when the next Xbox is announced, date unknown". This is the most likely reason to wait as long as they have. If not waiting for a console announcement, a full year to 1.5 years of marketing is reasonable for a game of this caliber.

It has to be soon considering the game is supposed to release this year. Bungie, why we no have announcement?!

This is what I've been thinking. I am really hoping for sooner rather than later though. My guess is that it's going to hit all at once here in the next couple of months; Destiny's reveal with Bungie.next, and probably some other things. It's going to be interesting for sure.

Deej teased it so much in the last mailsack, it has to be soon, could even be next week

"The past twelve months have been home to fascinating developments at Bungie. We are thankful. We've marched ever closer toward our fate. There is brilliant light at the end of the tunnel, dear community."
