how about us who do not live in the U.S

apply for cidisenship to get acess to XBL??

-blam!- off

You do know that there are different Xboxes sent to different countries, right?

And all countries have ID cards for adults, right?

So, when they are putting in the appropriate power cables, they also put in the appropriate card reader.

Its not that hard.

Can we get a source on this rumor or are you just speaking out your ass?

In the way of part of the new Germany was Poland so Hitler and Stalin took it over so Germany could grow.

What.

I dont think it would decrease sales. It would make the parent AWARE at the very least that their little timmy is killing people in call of duty and throwing around swears like a naval officer.

Both of those have to do with bad parenting. And of course it would decrease sales.

Also, I dont care if they are mature or not. I was mature at 18, but I still couldnt go buy some beers. Thats just how the world works.

So basically, you're just fine with some stupid rule because "OPE, WELL I GUESS THAT'S JUST HOW THE WORLD WORKS"

BNet, the only vidya game forum where sigs are pointless.

Does anyone actually believe this?
Here's a quote from the ESRB's website:
The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) is the non-profit, self-regulatory body that assigns ratings for video games and apps so parents can make informed choices. The ESRB rating system encompasses guidance about age-appropriateness, content, and interactive elements.
Bolded for importance.

Read the thread. I posted it on page 2 or 3.

And I am quite clear, this is a rumor. That's it.

Some things in this World you just can't explain; but that doesn't mean they are any less true, just that you have to chose to believe in them.

Why would a 37 year old gamer who has been playing for 20 years stop playing because of this?

You know...just wondering...why and all...

Sure, I could mute out the whiny parents looking for a scapegoat on CNN. But I don't think congress can or should.

Now, I could see this happening voluntarily to prevent legislation from forcing worse. Because of America's need top blame someone or something, we may be faced with a choice of having Shooters banned all together, or something like this.

A card reader on a console? That sounds absurd.

I wouldn't mind this feature. I would certainly cut down on how many little kids are online playing M rated games, but you can't stop those parents who'll just give their ID to their kids.

My box of porridge downstairs recommends that I use warm milk, but I don't have to scan any card to prove that the milk is warm. See where I'm going here?

  • 01.02.2013 12:12 PM PDT

this is such a stupid idea haha. all you would need to do is have your parent or an older sibling use their ID.

Kids playing M games is going to happen no matter what.

Parents just need to take the 5 minutes to look at a youtube of gameplay of a certain game and decide if they want their kids playing it.

It's not that absurd, the Wii U has a NFC reader.

See, this is one of the problems. It isn't simply just little kids, it includes teens 14-17 too. Which is a lot of people.

I don't believe that's entirely accurate.

Maybe on PC's or Playstation, or Wii/Wii-u. But when I'm playing games like Call of Duty, or Halo, almost every lobby consists of guys, or a G.I.R.L(Guy In Real Life), who are normally below seventeen; On average their age is around 12-14.

And the people on my friends list, who are younger, are normally playing games like Halo or CoD.

That's why I said they'd lose a majority of their population. I said 75% as an over exaggeration, though the drop in mainstream games would drop quite a bit.

  • 01.02.2013 12:15 PM PDT

Straight Edge.

Ok well I am 17 now anyway so this doesn't bother me much.

Thats what i said. I generally play with teenagers and people in their 20's. not 40 year old men.

So you are contradicting a properly conducted study with your own anecdotal evidence?

Seems legit.
