Given the shooting at Sandy Hook

Would you like to mention that the one who did said shooting was not full in mental health?

which goes with me saying earlier that if your child isn't healthy in the mental department then you don't need to be buying anything other than nintendo games.

I don't mean to be rude but i honestly can't find i polite word for it. But just because mentally ill children or adults do things does not mean the general populace needs to be help back because of it.

If all the money went that went into stupid crap like this went into medical research we probably wouldn't be having issues to start with.

I stand by you in this.

Meepzoid

lmao, where did you find these absurd rumors? The ESRB is sort of a "warning sign" if you will. A kid can play Call of Gears Auto ODST whenever they want, The reason you have to be 17 to buy a game is to make sure adults understand what they're buying for their kids. If a police officer saw a kid walking with a copy of Halo, there's no law saying he can not.

Since when has any of that mattered when the call for a scapegoat goes out? Stop trying to make sense of it. There isn't any. I saw the NRA make a public statement blaming video games for a rampage shooting. Its an upside down world we live in, bro.

So, now we have a pissed off bunch of parents that have no clue about what they are blaming. It certainly sucks to be the witch in a witch hunt, doesn't it?

Welcome to the real world. Stop trying to say it isn't fair like you are talking to a teacher.

Thats the thing. These adults should be allowed to act however they like in an M rated game.

What the issue is, Is that M rated video games (the game, along with its community) is no place for a child.

That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever and is a justification on the adults part. So pretty much a child can't act foolish because they aren't 17 but an adult can because they are?

Stupid, utterly stupid.

Because there is absolutely no sense in this topic.

You talk about the real world but talk about a kid asking their parent for an idea?

contradiction.

  • 01.02.2013 1:02 PM PDT

A competitive players main goal is to win.
A casuals main goal is to have fun regardless of whether that results in a win or loss.
It has nothing to do with individual skill or knowledge, it has to do with the reason you play.

Just a rumor.

Yet it happens all the time. If I were to buy my buddy drinks until he passed out it would be seen as not only normal, but good of me. If I were to do the same to you I would be arrested and locked up for a long time.

If it is true, though I sincerely doubt it, the Xbox will lose many gamers, considering that the majority of people who play are minors.

I don't think you know how very very wrong you are. The average gamer is 37, and has been playing for a long, long time. I've posted this several times. Please feel free to look back a page or two, you will see it there.

Would you not agree there is a large distinction between drinking until you pass out and acting silly on the internet?

Correct me if I am wrong, but the ESRB sysetem is meant for the guidance of parents/ players, not there as a law saying that you can only play games of your own age rating, because no one in their right mind would do that, so the government can't enforce it with a system like that. (Not sure if I'm right though)

If the 720 did come with this system I personally would not buy it, and I think it would lose a lot of sales from the younger markets.

Of course. But its a good example of behavior being appropriate or inappropriate based solely on age.

I don't care about children playing M rated games as GameChat is no longer the prime way of communicating. I'm in a party talking and having a good time with my friends. I don't care if little 12 year old Joey wants to hop into a game of Halo matchmaking with me as I don't have to hear his potentially annoying banter.

Of course. But its a good example of behavior being appropriate or inappropriate based solely on age.

Being silly on the internet doesn't change much between being underage and of age. Drinking, however, is shown to be detrimental when underage compared to when you're of age. There is a reason why underage people can't drink, but I see no reason why young people can't be stupid on the internet.

I don't care about "fairness" nor is that my concern which in this topic has been the parenting.

Next thing you know the government will be picking what schools and careers children should have because parents are too stupid to guide them.

Sometimes when I look at the moon at night, my mind embraces the thought of a love so vivid and true that I almost believe it is real. Then, due to my delusions, I am forced back into reality and begin to indulge myself in real life vices such as chocolates and German board games to get that once natural high.

Nope. Im just not paranoid like you.

You're right. We should have the government create a plethora of new regulatory agencies for all aspects of our lives, both public and personal. It'd be wise to invest in prisons and jails as well.
