Why, hello there.

If you chose anything other than destroy, I honestly don't think you paid attention throughout the course of the series.

Destroy would be the worst ending, in the future... our children will build robots and thus the reapers are reborn again.

if you accept the fundamentally retarded over-generalizations of casper the friendly reaper, sure.

all the endings are horrible and directly oppose at least *some* key theme of the mass effect universe (ex: free will, tolerance, freedom from tyranny).

i did wind up going with control, and i agree it's probably the *least* incredibly idiotic of all the endings, but you still wind up with a galactic police state.

All the endings are idiotic in their own way. I ended up choosing destroy.

Until the extended cut I would have agreed. But the EC makes it clear Synthesis is the best option. It ensures universal peace and prosperity, and you retain your free will to boot.

The Internet is an empowerment tool that's agnostic; it doesn't care about race, gender, or age.

I chose control if I remember correctly.

I found synthesis to be the most morally disgusting option there, emphasised by the fact you killed Saren in the first game when he was trying to do something similar."We can solve conflict by making everyone the same". Might as well call the new galactic coalition Aryans.
Destroy is the only choice that makes any sense all things considered, which is why Anderson is it's graphical representation.

This.

I think the ending that opposes the least key themes is Refuse, but it's a complete non-ending and serves as little more than a middle finger to those of us who wanted something better. That leaves Destroy as the second-least thematically destructive ending, yet even that is completely retarded. Shepard becomes a genocidal murderer. Legion states that the geth joined with the Reapers because they didn't want to be killed by the quarians, in my playthrough Shepard then works to solve the issue and unite the geth and quarians together. Yet you end up butchering them in the end anyway.

Apparently it was too much to even conclude the game by having what you do matter in the end. You get the top EMS score by making choices that adhere to the themes of the series across ME1, 2 and 3? You get all the War Assets you need to defeat the Reapers and get the best ending, as it was established in ME1 that our Cycle is different due to the Reapers losing control of the Relay network. It should absolutely never have come down to this utterly contrived Crucible ('Reaper off-switch') bollocks.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Destroy and Shepard survived.

I didn't think it through and was horrofied when I realized EDI was also killed. Also, wrecked the Mass Relays.

It'd be interesting how the galaxy would function without them or a lack of them for a good amount of time.
