Not from my experience. We have a family friend who works at Playground Games and it's seriously just more indepth asset creation with a deeper codebase that any dedicated indie could make just as much use of (though he probably wouldn't need to)
And I know teachers from Ubisoft Massive( One worked on WiC and GC as Software -something-(he can't remember, but his name is in the top 5 names in the credits) and the other worked on Far Cry 3 ), then students who're working/interns at studios such as DICE, Ubisoft Montreal, Rare, Ubisoft Bulgaria, Starbreeze, Tarsier, SouthEnd, etc(among with indie devs that I cannot remember). and some created their own indie studio.
There's a huge difference from what they've started learning depending on the studio, but the biggest difference is between the indie and AAA interns/workers.
But that's just programmers, no idea about artists, but level designers got better tools at their disposal at an AAA studio.Hence fancier equipment, etc. At the heart of it all is fancier equipment, a deeper codebase and lots more assets with high quality. Made by lots more people. Granted there's a bit more to it but nothing that the everyday employee is going to encounter, especially an entry level one.
