Ah ok...I seriously hope Dark Souls 2 has better PC controls. I know this is a port, but From Software should at least try next time.

Thanks.

I swept the floor with that boss using magic. Killed the dog in one swipe with my Drake Sword. Then I simply fired a Heavy Soul Arrow and rolled backwards right after. Rinse and repeat. If I remember correctly, he only managed a single hit on me.

What are these first person words you speak of?

They said they didn't want to do it, and even gave warning that it should be played with a controller, regardless.

Hopefully though, they will have better controls if they make a pc version of DkS 2.

Why does everyone complain about the carpra demon, i bet him on my second try (the first time was my first time going through the lower burg so the dogs and backstabbers made me use up all but one estus flask).

Capra isn't hard, its just if you don't deal with the dogs they'll stun you and then its easy for you to die. That and you are in a small area so there isn't much wiggle room so new players seem to have a lot of trouble with it at first.

Completely off the topic of this boss, but can someone tell me how to kick?

I'm playing on PC, using an Xbox controller. The message sign in the tutorial says "left stick and RB" for kick, but what am I doing with the left stick? Pressing it? Moving it?

I've tried everything and I can't kick at all.
You press forward. Like you're running forward0 holding the stick in the forward direction. You just tap (not hold) both at the same time and you'll kick.
Caveat: With some weapons like the Scimitar, instead of kicking you do this interesting dodge slash thing.

High END + stairs + rolling = walk in the park. I guess if you don't know the moves you can get disoriented pretty fast and never have enough time to learn, but there are still so many ways to beat the fight that's it's not even funny how people complain about it.

Just for reference, the hardest part of the game for me was the Artorias fight, and even then it was because i wasn't paying enough attention to his moves.

Forgive me if I do not believe you. Every major nerd gamer I have talked to have yet to beat the game and have stopped playing because how hard it was.
Just saying here, if my 10 year old brother can beat the carpra demon i seriously doubt that your "major nerd gamers" friends are as good as they claim to be.

...I'm playing as a Wanderer, and that is why I couldn't get the kick animation - I do a weird flip/hack/slash thing instead of a normal kick.

Explains it - thought I was going crazy

I want to play this game now.

I had an amusing experience like that when I was trying to explain it to my dad who was playing as a wanderer.

I still have to beat him, I got there on my main guy whose around the 5th or 6th playthrough but I wasn't doing that well with some of the changes and I kept getting distracted when I try to play on my new character. Though the Four Kings were hardest part for me (at least without fully beating the DLC) until I learned to roll dodge their attacks.

  • 01.02.2013 6:18 PM PDT

Roll dodging will get you so far in that game I prefer it over blocking honestly, still I will block the occasional attack.

Take off your armor so you fast roll, then roll left then dash up the stairs. From there you can kill the dogs 1v1 and then fight Capra by himself. That's it.

Backstabs. Your problems are now solved.

You cannot backstab the dogs or the boss, actually read the OP.

Alright guys and girls, at the moment I am extremely stressed out. For the past year I have had dark souls and I have tried to beat the game. This is the only game I have not been able to defeat. So far I have gotten as far as the capra demon and he has wiped the floor with my ass every time I try to go fight him. I can't level up because I am losing all of my souls from dying.
Now I thought okay so there has to be a gamer dude who works at either game stop or game exchange. so I go there and start asking questions about the game hints and tips and what not. Guess what most of those guys quit playing the game because it was too damn hard. I am not a quitter but I am about to break it the disk on accident/purpose.
This is really ticking me off so I am turning to my last choice for help.....The Flood. So here is my question for you all. How the hell am I supposed to defeat the capra demon? As soon as I walk in boom he is on me I try rolling left, the dogs jump at me and get me caught on the wall....death is imminent, I try again this time rolling to the right...haha I get stuck between the very small arches with the dogs and the demon hitting me and taking me out in a couple of seconds. I try again this time charging him and at the last second possible faking right the rolling left thinking he might get confused....works slightly with an inch of health I run up the stairs and then what happens next the damn dogs take me out before i have enough time to drink the estes. now you see why I am so upset....PLEASE HELP

My character:
Level 22 warrior using the drake sword and yet still having trouble

OP, Drake sword is not good against bosses. You're going to want to go to the Darkroot forest and farm a little. Also kill the Black Knights and try to get the Black Knight Sword drop.

know dat feel, I'm starting a dark souls LP completely blind... but this will help for when I reach that point.

  • 01.02.2013 10:35 PM PDT

A simple life.

Wow...you are not very far. Have fun on the last boss!

  • 01.02.2013 10:35 PM PDT

From the ashes

Capra demon? I died to him once, cause I didn't realize he had two hounds that would attack, so I got myself worked around. After that, I just used my shield, attacked, rolled out of the way of a big attack, attacked...Repeated til he died. Simple.

I had more of an issue on Capra than I did Gaping Dragon, boy that fight was a joke.

  • 01.02.2013 10:38 PM PDT

This looks like a very interesting game after watching someone stream it on Twitch.tv and I'm used to games from the legendary NES days of difficulty so it should be fun. I think I'm going to get it soon.
