Never make me angry. I am a Hitman and I can easily find you and take you out.

Because we get to kill stuff.

Guide to immortality : Sleep with Life

I had a pretty big time thread once.

Here's me bragging about it.

Some will say because we like to kill people *coughmediacough*

Really I just think it's fun to see destruction and violence that never would happen in day to day life.

"It is the cruelest fate, to have written words that meant well and see them made wicked and unwise. What was meant to encourage life, used instead to justify taking it."

I guess it helps us vent aggression and satisfies our need for violence we can't legally satisfy in real life.

Winston Churchill: "If I were your husband I'd drink it !"

Off the bat I would say that conflict has always been in human nature thus violence is something that natural to us

Call me Stu

Because we are naturally Violent?

  • 01.02.2013 3:35 PM PDT

It isn't so much about the ability to kill things, it's mostly the same reason why we play Mario, Final Fantasy, Zelda, Metal Gear, or Castlevaina: we're doing something that we wouldn't normally do and taking part in a role/situation we don't find ourselves in often. So it peaks interest and engages you to play. Violence is just part of it.

But im never mad or stressed when i play and i dont want to do anything illegal. I think its just natural theres really no reason why we like it

Don't LOL if you aren't L'inOL.

Halo: Reach
Halo 3
Halo ODST

Because we don't get to do it in real life (unless you're mad)

I like hurting and killing with purpose.

That's why I prefer games with decent stories and -blam!-.

  • 01.02.2013 3:49 PM PDT

1.) "Crack In Time" - Louder Production Music
2.) "Agressive Sucks" - Moss Landing
3.) Custom Version of "Meet Oscar" - Louder Productions Music
4.) "Behind You Rise" - Distortion Music
5.) "Aurora" - Mark Petrie
6.) "Surge Down - Audio Machine

It's because deep on the inside we're all violent monsters who unleash our inner selves with video games, and video games are the root of all evil and they should be banned along with violent movies, TV shows, reality TV, violent cartoons, and the show FRIENDS.

There fun

whose fun?

  • 01.02.2013 3:55 PM PDT

Why do we like a specific video game genre over the other?

  • 01.02.2013 3:56 PM PDT

The games are fun. Violent or not what's being simulated is irrelevant when the game play is enjoyable.

I would enjoy halo just as much if I was playing laser tag instead of killing Spartans.

  • 01.02.2013 3:57 PM PDT

The Song Of Nephilim

Xenoblade <3

I hate extremely violent video games that just uses gore as the main focus.

  • 01.02.2013 3:58 PM PDT

Remember those times when we all had something better to be doing, but didn't do it? Those were good times. Gooood times

Humans are naturally attracted to violence. Roots of this can be found in our tendency to fight among ourselves and can be seen in the gladiator fights of ancient societies.

Violent games have gained popularity due to the fact that we are unable to release our violent impulses elsewhere without consequence, and killing/fighting games are naturally popular among people as they lack those consequence and reward players for slaughtering one another.

So a psychotic murderer would play Viva Pinata or Farm Simulator?

Rain, and Jazz.
Halo: Tactical

I'm either a fool or an inteligent man, depending on how sleepy or angry I am.

I originaly made an account on 07.27.2007 but I wanted to link my GT and made this account. Don't forget your passwords!

I personaly don't like games that are too violent.

I would also assume it would be because violence in videogames is technically possible in the "real world", making it more enjoyable to beat someone at than super-fake stuff.

Wether it be super monkey ball, Counter-Strike: Source, or Grand Theft Auto; competition can be very fun. It doesn't require too much magical thinking to make a game that uses realistic forms of competition. This could be life-or-death fights or sports games!

  • 01.02.2013 4:04 PM PDT

Because games like "Futuristic Grocery Salesman" and "Collect Food for Your Native American Tribe" wouldn't very fun.

  • 01.02.2013 4:07 PM PDT

It isn't the fact that they are violent, it is the fact that they are the most rewarding. Dopamine is the hormone released in our brain which gives us happiness and pleasure and it is released when we feel accomplished or successful. This is why we really like to shoot people and accomplish earning kills and points and get pissed when we get killed and thus robbed of dopamine. It's also why we get angry when we don't get to eat or do fun activities because our brain knows we are being robbed of dopamine.

  • 01.02.2013 4:08 PM PDT

...Maybe because it's something we can't do in real life? I don't know...
