Since you're talking and texting, just ask her "So, would you like to go out again sometime?"

Nope, he should actually say it in a better way with less decision on her part like "You should go out to see a movie with me sometime soon." Bad wording and example but it makes it more likely to get a yes.
This is very true. Then again, it isn't just girls that do this, but you are correct. And yes, the wording is important.
But OP, girls tend to form an opinion of a guy in the first moments they meet you. If you think she might have changed her view then sure, but otherwise it is wasted effort.

This is true, it might be.

Pics for advice.

And if you wanna go for it, go for it. Unless there's something to lose like your group o friends or whatever.

Hah, sorry, not opening that door. And I will, no fears.

Marley: next time try to be a little for inconspicuous.
John: What do you mean?
Marley: John, we grow lots of gear, right?
John: Yeah loads...
Marley: So try not to come back with a wasted girl and a packet of fertilizer!

I've been in this situation myself believe it or not. Personally, I could imagine myself many years in the future wondering what might have been. It's highly unlikely that you'll lose her as a friend if you try it so why not?

This is true, if we're still friends after last time, I suppose trying once more won't end too badly. And yeah, that's the thing, is that I'll keep wondering about it if I do nothing.

Is that a good thing?
And yeah, I know. I mean, unless she just assumes that I had given up and don't like her any more. But I doubt that.

Don't think it matters. It would be cause for a concern if she actually tried leading you on, in some way, over the past year. Knowing you have feelings for her and her not having feelings for you yet still leading you on.. is a nasty situation that you don't deserve to be in.

Thanks. She had told me that, up until after the trip to the movies, she had sort of liked me, but was on the fence, and decided to hold hands anyway, but then decided later that she didn't like me. Pretty sure that's being led on. Though I could be wrong, since I'm wrong about a lot of things in life.

It's not a crime to be unsure. It's absolutely natural. I was mostly talking about after the whole movie thing, once she realized she didn't have feelings for you.

Oh, right, right. Sorry. Yeah, that was not a fun situation. So do you think it wouldn't be worth it for me to try again?

I would never say that. From what I've read, nothing came up that would make you feel as if her feelings for you have changed though. If it's something you want to do, do it. You seem like you're aware of what could or couldn't happen and how to go about it. Better than most. Doesn't hurt to try, unless you have delusional hopes up, though I don't see it like that.

Admittedly, it almost feels like I know nothing will come of it, but that I have to try just so I never can say "What if". So, yeah, I think I'm being realistic, hopefully. Thanks for the advice. I appreciate it.

Why now, after almost a year? Curious.

Studies show that men think about sex every 7 seconds. I do my best to eat hotdogs in under 6, just so things don't get weird.

Please allow me to introduce Myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith

She already knows you like her. Just do it already.

Besides, what have you got to lose? You're still in high school. The odds that she's "the one" are so low that this is basically consequence free. You guys WILL break up eventually. You and she will move on and find other people. So, you have nothing to lose.

I'll be honest, I have no damn idea. I guess that ever since the stuff last year, it was sort of in the back of my mind, but I really have no clue why now.

If that's not important then you definitely have nothing to lose.

Lol a lot of times when girls don't like you they still pretend they do because they like knowing that people like them, and also they probably don't want to hurt your feelings. Girls hate it when horny guys get all over them when they don't like them. So yeah if you ask me she's just trying not to embarrass you in front of your friends. Also who the fu*k holds hands throughout an entire movie?

She grabbed my hand, which is the hilarious part, since when she did I was like, "Well, okay then she probably likes me, since if she doesn't, that would be really awkward of her to do".
