Subject: Least favorite book you've had to read for school

Varsity rower

I'm reading All the King's Men right now and absolutely hate it, everything is just so dull and uninteresting. I think it may be my new least favorite book of all time.

Anyway, what's your least favorite book that you've had to read for school?

Life is a journey, if you spend all of it with your nose in your map, you may miss some of the best parts.

The Great Gatsby is the single worst book ever written. I hesitate to call it book when I should call it a waste of paper and time instead.

Made it into the update!

Why so much hate on the Great Gatsby?
I thought it was great! You really need to look deeper if you're not getting it. Everything symbolizes something about the America of the era in which it takes place.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

The Great Gatsby (Northanger Abbey is a close second).

It was bloody horrid! I've loved everything else from Homer's Odyssey to The Bloody Chamber, Crime & Prunishment and Of Mice & Men. Some of my favourite books have come from reading at school, but Gatsby was horrid. Still got 100% on my AS exam on it though.

Anything Shakespeare. I can't stand his writings.

ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY CHROME.

Romeo and Juliet. Great Expectations. Hatchet (had to read it 4 damn times). I didn't mind the other typical books though (Catcher in The Rye, Of Mice and Men etc.) I just couldn't stand either of those.

心の中に弱い風が吹いています。

To Kill a Mockingbird. Of all the books I read throughout high school for both class and simple enjoyment it was one that I just couldn't get into.
