And you want to know why? Because there's a lot more to school than getting good grades, but there's also a lot more to life than fun. You need a balance, and you're not going to get that unless you feel good. You can't be successful if you aren't content.

In order to get good grades, you need to have the motivation to do what needs to get done. In order to maintain motivation, you need either motives are comfort. You're not going to get that comfort unless you're living happily. For the foreveraloners and nerds out there, you can continue to tell yourself otherwise, but you're going to eventually run out of your motivation. When you spend every night playing Xbox after you finish your homework, you're eventually going to question the rinsing and repeating.

However, the opposite is true, too: You cannot be social and happy if you do not have the means to do so. In high school, you need nothing. But after high school, if your foresight wasn't long enough, you drop into a pit of sorrow and regret, living a boring and tedious existence selling t-shirts at Walmart.

You can be a nerd and still have friends, but are going to be happy? No. You need to meet someone that makes you feel good for who you are. You need to do what all humans are meant to do.

Date. Find someone you love. And even if you don't find that person in high school (which you most likely won't), you'll still find out what you want.

Dating is crucial in high school for both comfort, future knowledge, and... life.

-The Nasty Officah-

-blam!- that

Most people in high school aren't mature enough for a fully committed relationship.

I'd rather be an antisocial rocket engineer than a social dropout.

Not if you get good grades. Someone *cough* the OP *cough* obviously didn't try hard enough in school.

If you were my son, I'd be proud.
This. I'd take you out for a dinner at your favorite restaurant.

Quoted by a Mod. Call me a suck up, but I feel pretty damn awesome right now.

Thank you, Damian Jr. Gong Marley/Skrillex, for this crucial piece of information.

Thanks OP

I completely agree with this. Now in college, I finally realized the importance of grades + social. I most likely will never be in a relationship because I haven't in high school and is far too inexperienced and still can not develop "feelings" to a girl.

By relationships do you mean tons of wet, dirty doggy sex?

Being in the state of connection with one or more people, is important in life. Not dating.

My signature is rather loopy and elegant... I don't see a way to replicate this in text form. Do italics work? Yes, they do

As a person in high school I'm not going to say that my girlfriend isn't a central aspect of my life, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it's absolutely crucial.

I know plenty of people in high school not in a relationship and they never have been. There's nothing wrong with them.

I know many engineers and pre-med students who get all A's and party like no other.

My doctor called me to talk to me and he told me at Harvard the people there were actually not the best doctors as they lacked the social skills.

Clearly your reading comprehension is utter -blam!-. I specifically stated that you need a balance between school and social living.

Made it into the update!

I live a nice balance of straight A's while keeping my eyes and heart open to anyone who may find me an equal.

I didn't go to high school. I didn't "date" through that time either. I didn't need it and lack thereof didn't change anything. Years later, everything in my life is better than those who were around me and went through school. I don't think what you say is accurate.

I seriously hope you realize not everyone finds their "pure love" in highschool.
Sure, it's common to meet people in childhood/teen years that you stick with throughout life and eventually date or even marry, but do not think it as prominent as you currently do. I think a real source of motivation can come from simply asking someone out and being successful in the process. That's all it really takes, not a long term relationship, just something to go with so you can say "Oh yeah I dated once". That would provide plenty of motivation for the average NEET flood-user.

Clearly your proofreading is utter -blam- as you made a huge generalization that is far from correct.

Dating is crucial in high school for both comfort, future knowledge, and... life.
I didn't date in high school and I turned out fine.

I dated loads of women in my 20s (after I moved to a city) and finally found one I wanted to marry early in my 30s.

Making blanket statements like 'You NEED to do this in high-school because it's CRUCIAL' seems kind of silly to me. Anyone with any life experience knows that everyone is different and for many things people move at their own speeds.

It's like someone saying to a perent 'If your kid NEEDS to learn to walk at 12 months or NEEDS to learn to talk by 18 months.. Anyone with any knowledge about kids and (in this case) life knows that's a bunch of horsecrap.

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

LMFAO high school relationships.

I've challenged my beliefs. What is the book about?

I find that this is usually untrue. If religious people honestly, diligently and intelligently challenged their beliefs, there would be no religious people.

all i did in high school was have sex and drop out.
