No. Sadly it's in our nature to be at war. It's instinct. We can wnat and hope for world peace but it is impossible.
I know we're impulsive. I don't have delusions about this but there is a universal truth. With co-operation we will be more efficient, prosperous and live better more fulfilling lives than if we were at war and using our finite resources on massive warships dedicated to destruction rather than scientific goals and exploration. It simply makes sense and no matter what. It's logical. And as much as we're instinctively violent we're also empathetic. The key is to give the impression humanity is a group that is not divided by borders.
Logic and understanding gos out the window when one man sees another with something he does not have and want. Mankind as evolved as we think we are still thrive off basic instincts. It's in us to want to be on top. It's are build to be the best. Unfortunately we just don't have it in us as a species to coexist.
What I'm suggesting is we manipulate our sense of what is our group. Tribes took other tribe's things because they wanted them. But if we can achieve a world where it genuinely feels like we're all in control and we have a mass global distribution system of all the key resources, there wouldn't be any pressing reason for war. It's a stretch. If that doesn't work than I'd be all for genetically modifying our genome to eliminate our violent tendencies.
the major problem is anyone with power and resources are not gonna give them up to live equal. I mean I'm pretty McDonalds (not trying to make them a bad guy here) alone has the means to end world hunger but they don't because the people who make those decisions live to well off of them.
We also have to look at different cultures and ways of life. Lets say we get everybody on board with the exception of Africa. (Just as an example of course) and a dictator there refuses to "play nice" do we abandon out sudden world peace to take him out and continue are way of peace? You take that small step what's to stop from taking another all in the name of peace?
Mankind as built itself up to fail, and I don't think that's really a bad thing. If we don't have the pressure of trying to find a way there is nothing to keep pushing us to become better.
