Subject: Most memorable opening to a game?

Could be a credit sequence, opening gameplay, or anything so long as it's at the beginning of a game. For me it'd probably be the opening sequence of Borderlands, I thought that the song fit perfectly, the style and setup was very true to the game, and it just got me hyped the first time I played it. So, what about you guys n' gals?

The trial of The Arbiter at the beginning of Halo 2 was good.

But I'd have to say my favourite was the opening G-MAN cutscene for Half-Life 2

For those who wish to contact me on Xbox LIVE, my main account is "The 7th Taco", and the one linked with my profile here is only a backup.

Every Halo game opening has been fantastic.

Far Cry 3
Borderlands 2
Saints Row The Third
Skyrim
CoD: Black Ops
Bioshock & Bioshock 2
Darksiders II
Assassin's Creed Revelations

Probably way more that I'm forgetting, but those all had some really awesome openings.

As much as I love this game I thought the opening was kinda weak.

Why did he randomly pick up a giant hypodermic needle and use it?

There wasnt even a would you kindly before it.

No. The scene when you're in the Bathysphere and you've literally just seen Rapture for the first time.

you are a good translator
Idiot can be a hard language to learn, but once you get it down, everything becomes so clear! The whole world will make sense to you.

Say what you will about Halo 4, but skydiving around exploding Covenant capital ships was a badass way to wake the Chief.

This, although the opening to FFX is a close second; tell me this isn't awesome. The world falls apart just as you're starting to behold it, and then you're cast into a world that not even the protagonist is familiar with.

Yes and the prologue cutscene with Halsey and CG cutscenes of the Spartans was also very good.

Really? I thought the phone use was pretty brilliant. I didn't see it coming, and it immediately made the conflict seem very real and dangerous.

Why Bungie, why would you do this?! - Halo Community

Most of the Halo intros. Reach's was a bit slow, but still good.

"I live...again! -Blood

The game starts out with this line, and you are given complete control when your grave opens, rising from the dead with that line. Dark moody, but contrasts soon as the level is part graveyard, funeral home and crematorium, blasting zombies and cultists and blowing everything up with dynamite. Truly sets the tone of dark, bloody and campy gameplay. Blood is a shooter that has its own feel.

It's on sale on gog.com. Even if its old, its presentation alone blew me away.
