I miss the days when the people complaining about Halo were actually good at it.

Ordnance drop just makes any reason to move about the map seem so null.

You won't get an ordnance drop by standing around and not getting any kills.

Actually, the kills come straight to me. I don't need to move about the map, people come straight to me, I kill them, I get a power weapon delivered straight to me. How nice, I don't need to fight for the map to get power weapons anymore.
This is very sad to think about.

Better than camping power weapon spawns.

Really?

Now players can camp on any place on the map and earn their power weapons, meaning players hardly have to move at all resulting in slow gameplay.

......When where they ever any good outside of boosting their 50's?

People act like ordinances are always so powerful... A needler or some pulse grenades on Ragnarok are just such game changers. Soon as I see those as options I know that I definitely wont have to move for the entire rest of the game.

Even though I used to argue with them over certain things people like Coooooooper, BeMe, Gigatech, Riot, Shieldless, Kirby, Zach the One and other SV forum legendzzz (not Kevin Brock) were actually really good at Halo.

I don't think they slow down gameplay..... but it definitely changes gameplay. No longer can you rely on only 2 snipers being on the map, or just one Laser in the middle or 1 sword in the top building. The game has descended into utter randomness, like Fiesta, which makes for players who don't care what they do or what happens because why would they? How does a game this random evoke any sort of passion or emotion when its basically a case of throwing the dice?

Having an ordinance drop in your back pocket is like having a spiky blue shell in Mario Kart. It makes a game originally grounded in basic and simple rules something utterly random.

Still not sure why they took out weapons on the map in favor of loadouts and lolordinance. I used to be able to how a match would play based solely on the weapons available, now i have no clue if an enemy will have an incineration cannon, start glowing blue, or pull a mini shotgun out of his ass.

Yeah me too, its a lot of fun. My point was that Fiesta was the crazy whacky fun mode in H2 or H3 or whatever, but with H4 thats how the game is all the time.

You know how if you hear the same pop song over and over and over you eventually get sick of it? That's how I feel about H4. Too much randomness, not enough longevity for me to settle into.

I normally pick up a new Halo game and play it for 2 years until the next game comes out, but with H4 I'll probably be trading it in some time soon because its just so...... unremarkable.

1. Weapons-on-map slowed down gameplay. The first minute or so involved finding the desirable starting weapon and then maneuvering into the position you wanted or hunting down players going for other weapons
2. The beginning of matches became almost mechanical, with people immediately going for power weapons. The first deaths weren't fluid or competitive, it was who spawned half a second closer to the energy sword or rocket launcher.
3. Weapons on map did not promote map control...map control is the suppression of key tactical locations. Weapons-on-map promote camping for weapon spawns.
4. On a personal note, I consider weapons-on-map to be a stale gameplay mechanic that slows down gameplay and interferes with actually attacking opponents.

How? I can sit at the side of Vortex or Exile and pick people off with my DMR without barely moving racking up Ordinance drops and if anyone comes close I blast them with rockets or whatever other insanely overpowered weapon I picked up.

Being on a losing side when they camp the weapon spawns in older Halo games was annoying, but thats the drama that made the game so interesting and why we came back. Losing a game like that made me feel mad and angry, but it made me want to get better.

With ordinance drops I don't have to worry about...... anything at all. And because I don't have to worry about anything I don't feel anything whatsoever.

3. Map control pretty much doesn't exist in H4 because the maps are terribly designed, with no tactical locations because spawns are random and maps tend not to have bases like traditional Halo maps. At the very least there should be a few Pistols and a few Storm Rifles or whatever on maps in H4, doesn't have to include power weapons.
4. Hmmm... I disagree with this. I've started using that Ammo perk in H4 just because I constantly run out of ammo in Big Team, if weapons were on map I wouldn't have this issue. Running out of ammo and dying is a pathetic and frustrating end to being able to survive so long. Seems more often than not that I'm scavenging amongst the dead to get weapons, like a vulture.

I expected points 1&2 to be fixed when 343 said they would make weapons spawn at one of several locations (and everyone -blam!-ed that it was randomness), now we don't even have weapons on the map, this isn't just not having power weapons, this is not even being able to get ammo for your pistol because no one else has a pistol in their load out.

3 I never said it did, I played a match on Ragnarok the other day and it was a fun tug of war over the middle hill, but i constantly ran out of ammo....................

4 I just want weapons on the map so i don't have to rely on someone else picking a similar loadout

And as ordinance, we've gone from 'mechanical" gameplay as you call it to "random" gameplay, as we all called reach.

Yep. It's funny how 343 removed some of Reach's retarded gameplay mechanics (bloom, armor lock, etc.), but added equally retarded mechanics in their place.

Weapons on map>ordinances. lol @ anyone who thinks otherwise

As the title says.

It takes entirely too long for a player to decide what ordinance he wants to be dropped on the battlefield hence greatly slowing down gameplay.

Not only that but the player calling in his ordinance has to stand still to wait for it to finally drop down.

I find it ridiculous at how bad this disrupts the flow of gameplay. This is not Halo and this slowness needs to be addressed and fixed.

8/10. This guy knows how to be subtle.

Easy solution.

1) Keep moving and paying attention while you choose.
2) Make it drop in front of you while running.
3) Pick it up while your running.
4) Keep playing.
5) ????
6) Success.

See, not that hard. And for a secret seventh step 7) Take advantage of the morons who stand there and take forever to choose.

Problem solved, good day.
