Subject: F.E.A.R. is Scary

There is a certain point of tolerance that should never be reached.

The trick to scary video games is to make enemies you can't kill.

The idea is to give you control, total freedom, and not allow you to really overcome them enemy.

Deadspace does this really well with the invincible enemies.

Hey, uh, if you like vs threads, then check out this little group right here, if you have the time. It's pretty fun, just hop right in.

No, it isn't. It was creepy at first but then I realized I was more dangerous than anything I was going to meet seeing as how I can slow time itself and was armed to the teeth. The only logical threat at that point would be Alma herself, who doesn't even directly attack you.

Neither the Hunter nor the Ubermorph were scary, mainly because they could still be dismembered and stasis'd so they turn into -blam!-ing snails while I casually stroll away.

Also, you burn the Hunter to death toward the end of the game. And the Ubermorph can be tossed into a fan and gotten rid of anyway, so neither of them are truly invincible.

Dead Space in general is more of a shooting series than a horror series.
