Competition can be seen in both positive and negative aspects. It's good because it can encourage others to try harder and work their best. But it can also be bad because it can discourage or stress others.

Would you encourage or discourage competition?

Encourage it if it's an even match. Discourage it if one side will crush the other.

It brings ingenuity and new methods out. It is really both, as when one is superior and the other mocks it, the lesser of the two loses much more than the senior.

Depends if you have low self-confidence or dedicated to constantly improving yourself.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Well in business competition is always good unless the consumer ends up being abused.

Encouraging. Even if someone suffers a crushing defeat, it just makes you want t work that much harder to be on top.

I like to play Reach for fun. I hate MLG, campers, armor lock, and team killers because they ruin that fun. Deal with it.

It can be; some competition makes it exciting and fun, too much competition makes it MLG.

There can be those that are overly competitive. But overall competition pushes you do get better even if you don't win.

The apathetic force us to persevere, with their backwards priorities.

If it discourages you, you are too weak.

Competition is good.

Heavy weighs the crown, low hangs the head who wears it.

Depends what you're looking at.

Competition has all the benefits previously mentioned, but will also make people more frustrated, aggressive, and sometimes violent. We don't want people up in arms burning hockey sticks and baseballs though, so keep that on the down low.

I am a pharmaceutical scientist. I received my Masters degree in Pharmaceutics from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia in 2010, after working as a Pharmacist for 4 years. I currently work in King of Prussia, PA, and focus on the analytical chemistry of small molecule APIs. My clients include some of the most well known big pharma companies in the world.

Encourage competition wholeheartedly. If competition discourages you, you shouldn't be competing in the first place.
