Subject: Scariest era of warfare.

Studies show that men think about sex every 7 seconds. I do my best to eat hotdogs in under 6, just so things don't get weird.

Please allow me to introduce Myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith

The Great Flame War of 1999.

I shudder to think of the shock sites and troll posts in that one.

WW1

Not really an era, but no matter.

Human-Covenant war

WWI or WWII. Imagine just sitting in your bunker waiting for enemy forces to advance as they rain mortar after mortar on your position. You don't know which one will end your life but you do know it's all up to chance. I tell you, the mortars itself would break a man.

Forming up ranks in a field. Brass -blam!- balls on those men.

WWI

Probably now, with all the snipers and biological threats. It's real scary.

Ancient duh. Just look at my sig. Those Elites look docile now but once you piss them off, they charge at you in full force and even if they didn't have shields, it'd be a challenge.
Elites?
They're yours if you want, just don't touch my shining armor.

This day and age. I mean, with snipers that can soot accurately over a mile and a half, You might not even know what killed you or your best friend standing right next to you. Plus with things like hydrogen bombs, WMDs, stealth jets, and advanced tanks that we have today, the sheer firepower is terrifying.
The more devastating, the less I fear it. That is intense mercy.

I'd have not wanted to be in Stalingrad. Neither as a Russian or German soldier.

World War I.

~Thread-killer~

They all sucked.

In the 1800's, any wound was bound to turn necrotic and die, probably taking you with it based on the rudimentary medical care.

WW1 brought along the use of chemical/biological weapons. An orange/yellow cloud of awfulness enveloping its victims in it's eternal embrace is damn scary.

WW2 brought back chemical weapons as well as nukular. Both awful.

Cold War Era instilled the fear of nukular annihilation into every man , woman, and child in the developed world. Imagine wondering when you'll be vaporized or blown to hell by a Russian ICBM.

War is hell, and it's all horribly frightening I'm sure.

Well, here we are. I guess that it was destined to come to this.

World War I.

I'd agree.

Human beings were still mentally and socially in the horse-drawn mindset and were facing machine guns, air-burst artillery, mechanized armor, poisonous gas, and so on. Terrible hygiene, terrible medicine, and the first real show of what industrial level warfare could do to flesh and bone.
