Subject: Do you believe in a Multiverse?

I gaze upon the stars and see the majesty that is the universe.

It is a possible theory and has yet to be disproven.

  • 01.03.2013 11:57 AM PDT

Although I can believe such an idea is plausible, to believe in an existence outside of existence as real is counter intuitive.

Never really saw much point to the theory. If there's no way to test it, it's pretty much the same as saying nothing at all.

It isn't interesting to me, and I don't really think of it as scientific at this point.

  • 01.03.2013 11:58 AM PDT

It's yet to be disproven so it's possible but unlikely.

  • 01.03.2013 11:59 AM PDT

It's possible and I like the idea so yes.

Many things in this universe cannot be proven by us but are still called science.

Yes, but not the string theory way.

If we disagree, it's nothing personal, opinions are opinions.
Antagonizing me to build a false sense of worth is so damn cute.

Brighten your day with science.

Like a lot of things.

*wink*

OT: I think that it's a possibility.

On December 1st, 2012, I met Neil deGrasse Tyson. I shook the man's hand, and even made him laugh. Not much else to do with my life now.

I have no interest in blindly believing in a concept simply because it sounds cool. Until actual evidence in favor of the multiverse theory is presented to me, I reserve my judgement. When that evidence arrives, I'll be more than happy to consider it as a valid theory, but we need to wait a while before that.

Burden of proof.

I am a pharmaceutical scientist. I received my Masters degree in Pharmaceutics from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia in 2010, after working as a Pharmacist for 4 years. I currently work in King of Prussia, PA, and focus on the analytical chemistry of small molecule APIs. My clients include some of the most well known big pharma companies in the world.

I believe that there could be, although it would be on a level that we can't comprehend. I'd still like to know what exists outside the universe, because although it is still growing exponentially, it does have its limits...

Agreed. All the changes are good and add variety. Do we really want another Halo 3? Just running around with one gun and no armor abilities? It's good that 343 wants to try something new. Do we really want the same thing for three more games?

we already know that a parallel universe exists

Dear Politician, Define sagacity,
All chances of survival are beginning to diminish.
Comedy is no excuse for our own blasphemies.
Mass media, Mass pessimism, Mass Denial.
My television tells me to panic, but I don't think I'll listen.
The apathetic force us to persevere, with their backwards priorities.

No, I do not.

Going to the moon sounded cool to children hundreds of years ago. Look at what we proved was possible in 1969.

Nothing can be "proven" in an absolute sense, but a lot of them can be tested, or interacted with in some way that is beneficial. The type of tests that would confirm or disprove a multiverse are so energy intensive that I'd wager we're thousands of years from performing them. At this point, the multiverse doesn't seem any more scientific to me than a belief in the supernatural.

she/he does not correct format sentences, therefore for intelligent matured members of society that may interact with her/him, may find her/him UNattractive for the reason that she/he does not comprehend with their level to successfully have a conversation therefore it will be socially an awkward interaction which may be wanted to be avoided

second i do not find it physically possible for a PERSON to be a ice cream truck.

Of course, Jet Li is killing his multiverse counterparts to become the one.

That's completely irrelevant. I have no doubts regarding the ingenuity and scientific prowess of humanity, but the multiverse theory is an incredibly complex and very substantial argument that, at the moment, doesn't have much to back it up. Why on Earth would I just "believe" in it without a good reason to?

Studies show that men think about sex every 7 seconds. I do my best to eat hotdogs in under 6, just so things don't get weird.

Please allow me to introduce Myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith

Its too cool to not believe in.

It means there is a universe where I am Batman, or Master Chief, Hugh Heffner etc...
