I do not consider it an insult, but rather a compliment to be called an agnostic. I do not pretend to know where many ignorant men are sure -- that is all that agnosticism means. -Clarence Darrow

I'm a bit curious as to what moments have imprinted and impacted my fellow floodians' lives. It could be a peaceful respite from the world in a quiet forest, a cozy cuddling session with that special someone, or anything else. Share the times during which life felt surreal. I'll start.

It was late December, a few days before Christmas. I was staying over at a friend's place, and we had enjoyed a fair amount of craft beers. We decided to bundle up and sit atop the water towers that rest on the crest of the hill that his neighborhood is built on. We eventually got up there after admiring the Christmas lights throughout the neighborhood ( it was a tiring walk, being semi-drunk and all ). Atop the towers, the view of the city lights in the distance with looming thunderclouds creating a dark ink spill on the black canvas of night behind it was simply surreal. My friend and I just talked and basked in the serenity of that moment until the snow became too thick to see the city.

I hope that gives you a decent picture of the moments I'm talking about. Just peacefully perfect moments that have stuck with you. Share away!

13.72 billion years in the making.

On December 1st, 2012, I met Neil deGrasse Tyson. I shook the man's hand, and even made him laugh. Not much else to do with my life now.

Staying outside long enough at night, in the middle of the Summer, for my eyes to adjust enough for me to properly make out the Milky Way's band in the night sky. That was just an amazing experience.

Wait.... how did you get on top of a water tower?

Agreed. All the changes are good and add variety. Do we really want another Halo 3? Just running around with one gun and no armor abilities? It's good that 343 wants to try something new. Do we really want the same thing for three more games?

After having not been able to beat a certain Hot Lap event in Burnout 3 for a good 2 years, and coming back 3 years later and beating it on my 8th attempt.

There's a ladder. Workers use it, I guess.

"If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the Universe."

Riding on a train through the French countryside listening to this song. I had recently lost a very close family member and the song coupled with the quiet, nighttime passing of the farmland reduced me to nothing.
