I have no problems with accepting the concept of global climate change. How else must I explain ice ages or how we got out of them? It's obvious that climate change exists...
...the problem I have is accepting that somehow humans, organisms, or anything else are responsible for it. It's been happening for million or perhaps billions of years, who knows, and we have not been around for that long.[/quote]
I also disagree with the concept of "it will burn/kill/destroy us all." It seems to have had a reciprocating behavior, so why would this be an exception?
My stance.
I'm not sure that scientists say that climate change will burn or kill us all. What they do predict is that we will have to adapt to a vastly different earth with a drastically more hostile climate. For example, there will be an increase in extreme weather events like hurricanes.
I had the same misunderstanding. While the earth does go through cycles, scientists agree the the current warming that we are experiencing is caused by human activity. I would suggest going to one of the websites I provided that explains how humans cause it.
I'd love to agree, and I understand it, it's just something I sadly need to truly see with my own eyes that it's caused by humans. I'd love to see focused studies, because that's probably one of the main things I'm still

Like rings on trees, the historical records of Earth's climate and even atmospheric content are locked away in glaciers hundreds of thousands of years old. Scientists can piece together that history and are quite confident what we are seeing today aren't even close known long term patterns.
I understand, but then I think... were Ice Ages not the same? A period of extreme change or buffet in the overall climate? It's just a little personal quirk.
Even what is dubbed "rapid climate change" during the last ice age was slower than what we see today. Like I said, scientist are aware of natural heating and cooling cycles. They are aware of previous cycles in atmospheric carbon as well. Now, they are seeing unexpectedly fast heating and atmospheric carbon levels rising far, far, above any historical cycle at it's peak.
