Why do they want to give my money to people who dont work?
Would you rather they just die? How can you support yourself and possibly a family with no money?

I'd like them to get a job and contribute to society, not live off my money.

And if they dont. Yeah, they can die

Also I don't think driving our country into debt with the insane spending is putting us ahead.
...says the Republican. All you guys do is talk about how we can't cut Defense spending because the military is our greatest power, blahblahblah.

As soon as someone suggests cutting defense spending, we're a communist or some -blam!-.

Of course it's greedy. It's called "society". We all live here together and we depend on each other. We should take care of each other in order to prosper. That includes letting poorer people have some more money at the end of the month to take care of their families. Otherwise, poor people will just get poorer, and we all lose when that happens.

Taxing the rich more isn't taking care of each other. It's stripping the money from the rich unnecessarily when they already support people well enough.
I entirely disagree; it's not NEEDLESSLY stripping the rich of their wealth. That money is put to use by taking care of people who otherwise can't.

And that's fine, but you're trying to raise the taxes on the rich when it's fine the way it is. I can see liberals taking more and more until they take 50% of their wealth. Because that's exactly what it'll come to.

Let's compare.

let's assume everyone is taxed at 10%.

An income of $300,000 will have $270,000 left over to take care of his family.

An income of $30,000 will have $27,000 left over to take care of his family.

Do you see why rich people should be taxed more, and poorer people should be taxed less?

No. Me paying 30k when someone else is only paying 3k is a joke.

Flat tax please

Flat tax? lolololololololollolololololololololololololol

Good one

Yeah youre right. Lets just tax the rich more and more until they leave.

The tax rates on the rich were extremely high (~90%) during the 1930's and 40's, but the number of rich citizens leaving the country or evading taxes was not high enough to negate the income brought in by the taxes.

The ~30% they pay now is NOTHING compared to the rates 50 years ago. The highest income earners were paying upwards of 80%.

You're communist when you try to socialize healthcare and take our money and give it to the poor.

First of all, communism and socialism are two VERY different concepts. It's clear you don't know what you're talking about.

Secondly, it's called "compassion" and caring about the people you share this society with. No wonder all the heartless businessmen are republicans; you don't care about people.

Why not? It worked fine back then. And it's clear that cutting it down to 30% isn't boosting our economy or jobs.

Wrong. A communist, by definition, needs to make the working class in charge of the means of production and distribution (industry, railroads, factories, etc.), which is not the same as making healthcare public property. At best that is just trying to create a welfare state, which is far from communism.

If they are for equality, then why are rich taxed more? That is not equal to what the lower and middle classes pay.

It's not equality though, direct contradiction.

What you mean no?

My parents have to pay a lot more than the average person even AFTER they donate to charities.

My parents have always donated in order to get tax breaks and insure that their money goes to people who really need it, not inner city welfare scum.

Exactly, we're taxed more.

Rooting out potential threats to our national security. Our work is mostly done as we have been teaching them to trust americans and also teaching their armies to fight said threats.

Mods ! Y u no lock political thread ?

OT Democrats and Obama are ruining America.

This times 1,000!

OT: So according to the idiotic liberals in this thread, the rich people should be taxed more for being more successful. Well you people listen to video game logic more than real life logic so let me explain this to you.

Say there are two halo reach players standing side by side. One player has a higher skill level then the player next to him. Because the player next to him has a low skill level, he doesnt have to pay much credits for armor, but the player with the higher skill level does? (both players are the same rank btw) Like somebody said earlier, penalizing somebody for being more successful is stupid and retarded. How would you like it if you were rich, (a billionaire to be more specific) and i forced to to spend most of your fortune on taxes which would eventually leave you with nothing?

Well i hope you stupid liberals see my point, and i would like to wish you a happy new year.
