Why bother outing his name though and calling him an -blam!-? By hiding your personal feelings towards this person and posting the text, you're more likely to get responses that aren't blinded by a hatred towards its author.

That's bias, basically author fanboyism, which is the oppoisite of an objective, clear minded decision on the points in the post. You may be allowed to post your opinion, but just because you're technically allowed to do something doesn't mean you should.
All that matters is the meat of the post, as you said. Everything else--including your opinion of the man--is irrelevant and only detracts from the meat of said post by drawing attention away from it.
I trust people to be able to see objective truth among bias. Failing to cite the author would be deceptive because it masks motive behind the statement, and considering this is a forum, not an essay, I see no reason to not voice my opinion (which, I'm sure you've seen, is that of agreement).
Those that refuse to read the statement because of the author have every right to do so, and their willful ignorance will be apparent in their posts.
