I think he's right.

Saying "I support the troops" and then leaving it at that is the same thing as Tweeting "Stop Kony" or whatever the cause du jour is and then claiming to have "helped".

If you want to get down to brass tacks, similar things could be said about pretty much any show of support for anything. If the criteria requires an individual to support a thing in very aspect of their being, then very few people fall short of such a thing.

Rustled Jimmies

I stopped reading after Micheal Moore's name showed up.

He is a douche and I have no idea why people like him

I intend to live forever, or die trying,

so far, so good.

Im not even American and I read it.

It is sad some of the satistics, and Im sure other countries have the same fate, even my own (Australia).

My experience with talking to people who are in the Army(includng my younger brother), are they want to be there and they feel they are making a difference.

So what if they are helping another country and not there own. We are one world.

He's right about us being more talk than Take.

Please just read the OP; it actually has valid points.

Anyways, I'm removing his name from the OP.

I agree, the idea of a military being useful for just national defense and not the good of the world seems a bit dated to me.

he's spot on and i fully agree with him

I agree with everything he said. Troops are hardly ever treated well for what they do.

We should know better, because we are better.

I see why this is inflammatory, but I also see where he is coming from. Just saying something does not make it true. Do you actually go out of your way to support the troops or do you just post "I support the troops." and leave it at that? I agree with what he has said.

But I do support the troops... with drones. I work to design the missiles that they order. I support the troops and they are nothing like this says they are. They are not rapists, they are not bums and they are most certainly not the plebeians of some warmongers lust for war. This man is a liar and a self righteous prick. I have two friends in the prosthetic department, vets don't pay for the legs themselves. Throughout the driveling rant he says that he has no claim to support the troops but turns around at the last moment and announces his superiority to all... my jimmies are rustled.

Moore is spot on when it comes to the gun culture in America, but needs to read a little more about foreign affairs.

Grunt, you live in California, right?

I remember you saying that.

Well, let me express a formal invitation to go shooting. You don't need to bring anything but your self. I will supply my two guns, ammo, and the ride to get to the range.

Cali? Ha, I'm from Jersey.

It's not that I don't support recreational shooting, I'm planning to go shooting soon myself.

Signatures are for little kids.

I agree with it all, nicely said.
