I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

Disclaimer: The latter is a lie.

You would say that now wouldn't ya', Bill?

I can still buy it for about £30-£40 here in the UK. The price hasn't gone up here, but then again I buy my 12 month membership from places like amazon, play.com and ebay. You'd have to be plain silly to buy a year membership from Game (UK's Gamestop).

How so?

Game
Amazon

A WHOLE PENNY?!

Though the Game one is apparently "on sale", I haven't seen it higher than that for ages.

LMAO! at the kids who can't afford a measly 6 cents a day.

I'm pretty sure NO ONE said they couldn't afford it, the question is; Was the bump from $50 to $60 beneficial for the consumer?

You should really take a look at the quarterly earning reports, for all three manufacturers. It may give you an idea as to why certain things cost what they do.

You stated they had no reason to bump the price, so what were you implying? My statement actually has no fanboy sentiment in it whatsoever, i'm just annoyed at these type of comments that show strong ignorance of how product costing works.

OH GAWD!!! Microsofts' Q4 Earnings stated that their Online Services, had an 8% Increase! with a revenue of 0.74 Billion! OH GAWD Their Entertainment and Devices had it even WORSE! With a 20% Increase with a revenue 1.79 Billion! They're in bad shape!

They were even SSSSSOOO Poor they couldn't buy Yammer for 1.2 Billion, make $300 million investment in Barnes n Nobles, acquire patents worth over a billion, then sell half of them to Facebook for 500 million!!!

Hell Microsoft is so tight on money Vivendi didn't even have them on the list of THE FEW potential buyers of the Billions-dollar-worth Activision

Now take that sad attempt at being clever and compare that to Sony, who gives away similar services for free.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

I've been a member for 10 years now.

I didn't notice any increase in yearly rates for at least the first 7 years.

Even this year when I bought a 12 month card in November it seemed to be about the same price, this is in Canada and not America though.

Did you ever get that promotional Xbox that Microsoft sent out to decade-term members?
No, I did not.

But damn if I don't deserve it, I was actually online the day Live started.
