Subject: Al Gore sells Current TV to Al-Jazeera

I'm just disgusted by this. What was actually a decent news organization with great insight on issues is now owned by the heavily biased Al-Jazeera Network (which means Al-Jazeera is coming to the U.S.). Time-Warner has since ceased operations with Current TV.

Link.

Al-Jazeera isn't "heavily biased."

No, acnboy. Spartain Ken 15 is a lesser being. Much like the bacteria that lives in your shit.

My shit bacteria takes offense to that comparison.

Don't make me lel. You won't like me when I lel.

Al-Jazeera is less biased than Current TV. I'm also not really seeing a problem with this.

the heavily biased Al-Jazeera Network
Al-Jazeera easily competes for the title of least biased international news broadcaster. You should be happy you might [almost certainly won't] get it.

They wanted it, they had the money so he sold it. It's business

I think most biased international news should go to RT, they're blatantly anti-west.
Al-Jazeera is alright though, they give you a different perspective without being blatantly biased and bleh like RT

  • 01.03.2013 4:59 PM PDT

Al-Jazeera is actually fairly unbiased. I think they have a stigma just because they're from the Middle East and FOX "News" bashes them occasionally.

Well, here we are. I guess that it was destined to come to this.

I will say it here and now. ANY corporation (foreign or domestic) that wants to spend 9 figures on something of mine?

I'll take it and not even blink.

  • 01.03.2013 5:03 PM PDT

Maybe I'll get my news from TV now.

  • 01.03.2013 5:05 PM PDT

I get Al Jazeera from Dish Network. My parents are Middle Eastern so they have the Arabic channels but I rarely watch them.

OMG
Master Chief w/o his Helmet!

Stosh <3's me vicariously... at least someone does...

Al Jazeera English is okay, and has already been in the US for years now. They're easily the best source for actual news available. They're even getting better about running stories on Qatar and Saudi Arabia as a whole.

My only complaint is that their scientific programs are occasionally very poor content-wise, but again, they're getting better.

9 figures

at-least 100,000,000.
That sets you up for life.
Agreed.

But then again, it's Al Gore. Does he really need any more money to live a luxurious life?

As would I. But, Al Gore is already an extremely wealthy man. He founded Current TV on the premise of good journalism and unbiased insight, and he sold it to an organization that practices neither.

We should know better, because we are better.

While I haven't followed Al-Jazeera recently, they seemed rather unbiased and had a quite comprehensive coverage of the Arab Springs.
