Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

No.

I don't think any one of us imbues anything approaching actual quality. Its just interaction. I see no reason to throw on inapplicable and thus meaningless qualifiers on how we interact.

But can't you agree that some interaction is better than others? Therefore a higher quality of interaction?

What? No, interaction can carry quality with it. How you interact with people in topics can suggest a spectrum of quality. Are your posts helpful? Mean? Kind? Disrespectful? Yes, I'm using posts as my example, but they are your form of interaction, clearly.

And since I'm sure people can agree posts can carry quality with them, your interaction as a result, has quality with it.

Long-surviving members simply suggests that they have a reasonable amount of loyalty and experience of how things work here.

These are just some of the possible qualities, not all of them.

That's right. My plumage is brighter than yours.

Listen, I know you may hear the phrase "'04 or bust" quite often from the older members, but I am here to tell you that that is simply incorrect.

Actually, it's '03 or bust.

And when the mods or Bungie employees say something like, "It depends on the person," or, "We welcome all members," those are just evasions of the aforementioned fact, and they function to make the newer members feel more secure among us aristocrats.

I am not going to lie, I can't wrap my head around being a member here since '02 or '03...I don't even remember what I was doing those years. Hell, I barely remember my time with my original account in '06..

I think the phrase has changed from 0'4 or bust to 0'9 are the more quality members. Look around you folks, 0'9s are obviously the better members now. Do you think the join date has direct correlation to member quality-ness?

Members who have been a member on this site for a while are less likely to get in trouble because they are familiar with the forum guidelines and know what posts cross the line. Those same members, however, are given less leniency because they have been around longer and should know better. That's what you're seeing. The personality of every member or the quality of every member's post does not necessarily change over time therefore I don't think there's a correlation with their join date.

IIRC, a while ago Bungie posted a graph of how ranks in Halo Reach(?) correlated to join date on Bungie.net. It would be interesting if we could get some insight into similar traits.

That would be pretty interesting, how are they going to define "member quality" though? Number of posts per ban?

Everything you know is wrong.

Eh, I don't think so. I'm an '09 but I don't see it that way. I believe most members think I am annoying despite being an '09 member.

I certainly think I am annoying :)

This world wants to drag you down... And the weight, that guilt they want to hang around your neck, you don’t have to carry it one more step. You think they won’t let you rest, but it’s not up to them. It never was.

2010! We're ok I guess.

Still...correlation does not equal causation.

Clearly that doesn't mean a thing when it comes to your quality. We always have a flood of new members when a new game releases and we welcome all of them.

Quality isn't quantifiable by definition.

Regardless, '04 and clearly high quality.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

I think the older members have more experience with this site and its features, but I don't think it exactly relates to quality.

Not in the slightest. I've seen old members acting less mature than members who've joined a month ago. This whole age elitism trend is getting old. Nobody really gives a damn about when you joined, sans yourself. It just doesn't matter.

"I will show you how a true Prussian officer fights!"

"And i will show you where the iron crosses grow..."

- "Cross of Iron"

I think it has a slight impact.

If you have been here longer you know more about the site, what you can and can't do, all that jazz.
