I hear it's Blighttown. Why is that?

Poison damage/toxic

Proud Spartan II, COG soldier, Hero of time, and crowbar wielding scientist.

Sometimes the frame rates get pretty bad, it has some particularly annoying enemies, and the ground is covered in poisonous water.

Blighttown is a good level that is only really brought down by technical problems. Aside from the framerate, it's a good level.

The worst is easily The Lost Izalith. It's just a big open lake of lava with dragon asses everywhere. It's not hard, it's just lazy design. The lava is also way too bright and it throws the contrast off making things difficult to see. The city part is a little better, but it's still an area the game could do without. It also has one of the worst bosses in the game.

The Tomb of the Giants also felt kind of lackluster, but the fact that you needed a light source made it somewhat interesting.

I liked Blight Town. The village bit felt very jumbled and precarious feeling, and led to fun combat where I kicked people of edges and such. The swamp bit was a little too flat and ordinary, and while there is some wasted potential in that regard, I thought it was just fine.

My least favorite area that I've encountered was Lost Izalith. That area is ten types of wack, from the headless T-Rexes that just randomly stand in the Lava and are both difficult and pointless to fight, to resuing those damned stone statues, to having only one spell caster? The Chaos Beasts were definitely freaky, as was the section where the floor fell out beneath you, sending you falling into a pit full of them, but the entire area just seems like it could have been twenty times as interesting and difficult.

I didn't have a whole lot of problems with Blighttown. Yeah the framerate tends to drop more and sometimes you kill yourself for stupid reasons but all in all it wasn't that hard.

I despise Sen's Fortress with every fiber of my being. I would've been happier if that entire place just didn't exist.

I have a lot easier of a time with it now, but when I first started? Nightmare.

Blight town
Lost Izalith immediately come to mind

Signatures are for little kids.

The worst thing about Blighttown for me was those blowdart snipers, but at least once they're dead they stay dead.

For me the worst thing isn't one area, it's when I use a humanity in the hopes of getting some help in a boss fight and some loser invades me the moment I leave the bonfire.

New Londo Ruins was tough at times for me. I rember draining out the water then noticing I was standing on heaps of body parts.. People who made Dark Souls must be almost insane.

Generally Blight Town... framerate, heights, enclosed spaces, poison zombies... More poison when you get below... Lack of close bonfires.

Sens fortress if youre not good with those.. Platforming sequences + no bonfire till the end.

Tomb of Giants if you have no source of light.. Youre literally walking blind.

Edit- I thought you meant "What was the worst area ingame"..

ahhh blight town...

poison blowdart guys that are very annoying to track down and can get your toxic meter up to full in two hits

low framerate

occasionally glitchy camera angles

very dangerous footing, lots of bottomless drops. (well, the bottom is there, but far enough away where it makes no difference)

the swamp poisons you as long as you stand in it, and the 'safe' way is so long literally nobody uses it.

Darkness.

confusing, twisting paths.

loot everywhere, unfortunately. Argh, i want it all, even though i want to leave ASAP.

among other things.

Most people will say blighttown, but I think the Tomb of the Giants is worse.

I didn't have any light source on my first playthrough.

Blight Town... frustrated blow dart people. Once you know where they are you're fine but first time through? You're -blam!-. Footing is ridiculous. Confusing lay out. HELLA ANNOYING ENEMIES- freaking infinite wasps...
Swamp slows you down. Annoying.
Pain in the ass to get to without the master key.

The world is not beautiful: And that, in a way, lends it a sort of beauty.

I like the concept of blighttown, i just thought the execution was off.

I mean first off there's the blowdart snipers, who usually take a while to get to, and that's assuming you even know they're there(i thought i had to turn off a gas leak because i kept getting toxic'd) and then there's just poison everywhere at the bottom, whcih makes travel annoying unless you know what you're doing.

basically, it needed more in game explanation, i shouldn't have to use a wiki to get through one of the main areas of the game.

freaking infinite wasps...

oh right, The wasps .

I hate those so much. If they're a milimeter above you, you can't hit them, and they're like the only enemy that a spear can't seem to hit if they're too close. Half my time in blight town now is overkilling those SOB's with dragonslayer arrows.
