My girlfriend and I have been together for a while and I'm looking to be enter a little bit more serious stage of the relationship, but somethings been bugging me. She doesn't seem interested in any current events, political or otherwise, and it frustrates me to no end. She didn't even know that Occupy Wall Street was a thing until a few days ago. It baffles me that she shows such disregard to things that can drastically affect her. Any ideas to fix it?

Inappropriate. Went a little to far with the butt hole tearing.

Show her The D while watching the news.

Eventually, she'll associate The D with current events, and she'll touch herself while getting informed.

Deal with it.

Take her to the Middle East? You can't ignore problems there.

Go be in the current events. If she is interested in you then it should work out.

Dumb people are just blissfully unaware of how very dumb they are.

Get her interested something she cares about or likes. Even if it seems boring or uneventful to you, at least shes involved.

This.

It's both entertaining and informative.

But they're not her concern, so why should it matter to her?

I said informative, not reliable. It's much like watching the Onion.

You might go there for laughs, but every now and then you might catch something serious hidden in the backlog.

BAN ALL BRONIES

Anybody is ignorant to not think that current/world events matter, they affect our lives way more than at face value but alot of people dont understand that unfortunately. Op you need to show her how these things can affect her everyday life.

Metal breakfast.

Casually pique her interest by mentioning one event a day or something like that. "Hey did you hear about what happened in X?"
Hopefully she'll become interested on her own and take the initiative to become more informed on her own. If she doesn't, it's not the end of the world either.
