ok, then why are you dating her for the next 4-5 years? why not wait until the last 2-3 years of college to start dating? you might find someone more compatible at college.

But what if you find someone more compatible in high school? Even if dating is the search for marriage, you can search in high school as well.

then good luck.

OP confirmed for stubborn and unwilling to see from a different viewpoint.

1. dating is the search for marriage

2. dating in college.

3. being friends with the opposite sex in highschool and that's it.

Sex shouldn't even be allowed before you turn 21. If you're not old enough to drink, you aren't old enough to have sex.

Smart and old =/= 18

16-25=the greatest period of idiot-hood in most individuals lives. While this period of time might be a bunch of fun and quite entertaining it is saturated with hormonal induced retardation.

I know exactly what fun is, and it is certainly not having sex with a different girl every week.

yet, I refuse to damage girls by having sex with them and breaking their hearts.

Is this guy serious?

totally serious. what's wrong with that philosophy?

Am I being trolled.

Is dating to you just a "search for marriage"? There is no purpose. It's just fun. Do you know what fun is?

If I ever see anyone post in a thread "That's your opinion", I immediately lose all respect for them.

Also, if you're discussing a topic with me and you resort to name calling, pull "life checks", or just call anything you don't agree with retarded without giving legitimate reasons, don't expect me to take you serious in anyway what so ever.

Well OP, most girls don't just like it when you ask if they wanna -blam!- before you at least oil the gears up a little. And if you're 16 and not thinking about getting lucky you are one of the few males that do.

I guess you could argue dating in high school is a learning experience. I personally didn't do it. I knew it would end badly, so didn't see the point in trying.

OP doesn't realize he is limiting his search for marriage by not dating.

OP could have found his wife, his soulmate, in high school perhaps but he lost the chance by taking a "high road" or not dating girls under the misguided notion that it "harms" them.

Any girl you find in highschool is most likely infected with some sort of STD.

Clearly we're compatible if we've stayed together through the transition to college. And I don't graduate college in 4-5 years...I graduate next year. I would get married if we could afford a large enough apartment, a car, a wedding ring/ceremony/honeymoon, etc. Right now it's just not financially possible.

why are you in this thread if you are in college?

Because my relationship is proof that you're wrong.

well for one, breaking a girl's heart is something that I never want to do again. and I would never want to take away a girl's innocence just for fun. sex is something that I want to save for marriage. I think that sex is more than fun. Something special between me and my future wife.

Fact 2: European guys are hotter

I guess I can understand if you don't want to make out with guys in the US if they're so ugly, you should just say so though.

He already proved you wrong. I work with a girl who is 23, and she married her boyfriend that she's been with since she was 12. I know that's an extreme, but still.

I don't expect to marry anyone that i date/dated through highschool, but having the experience and the amount i learned is totally worth it. It helps you be able to filter through the ones that are good and the ones to avoid if you know what to look for.

Also you take sex way to seriously.

So you would rather grow in maturity at the expense of your purity, innocence, and heart? I dont understand.

Um I don't quite know what you're trying to get at. My reply in a nutshell is that different people mature differently. I am plenty kind and passionate. I have a lot of love to give to others and I love to help people. I grew up pretty much alone so right now is the best time of my life so far. I have great friends and an amazing partner.

I would say I have all of what you said besides "innocence" in the term of virginity.
