:)

As you may or may not know, here in Australia it got very hot today. It reached 41 degrees Celsius where I live and even at 8pm tonight it was still around 30... Which is too damn hot!

As you may imagine, because of the heat there is a massive bushfire. Linky. Fortunately, only one person is feared dead (which really isn't fortunate at all...) Unfortunately my Aunty has lost her house as well as many others (unconfirmed for sure however, though I heard it was bad) and we haven't heard back from my sister yet :\

Ever experienced a bush fire before, Flood?

Talking about Sweden is an ultrabannable offense.

Too bad being completely and utterly wrong isn't a bannable offense.

I heard more than 60 houses on the news.

It got up to 41C in Hobart, the southernmost capital city in the country. -blam!- hell.

Wondering if the heat wave will hit us here on the Gold Coast.

Can't say that I have. Our worst natural disaster is flooding here.

Bungie doesn't like French on their site.

Yes, and it was hell.

I remember watching the news and seeing the map, we were literally trapped - in a circle of flames. We had two options, go to TJ, Mexico for a bit (family was there) or go to the beach. Scariest moment in my life.

Fires are a yearly event in Australia. Sadly.

Nope, luckily I don't have crabs. I don't need no itchy bush.

Non Nobis Nascimur - We are not born for ourselves.

We had tons of fires over in southern California. Schools used to get cancelled because there was too much ash in the air. Haven't had one in a while, though.

Looking for clan that isn't too serious? Then join the ODST 501st Airborne Battalion. Go to http://www.501st.forumclan.com for more info.

I saw the fires on the news, but I'm in the south-east suburbs. Only bushfire here was a very small one on Black Saturday.

Australia pulls host over USA fyi

Had a bit of fun with the qld floods a few years back, but never fires.

That said, I was once out at an aboriginal community in the territory, and one day we went out hunting with a couple of locals.. after a few hours of finding absolutely no wildlife, our compatriots decided it a fine idea to simply light a bushfire in order to flush out the wild cows/pigs/etc they knew were in the area.

Course, the wind thought it a fine idea to flare up at about the same time, and being the territory in winter, it was naturally 40c and probably negative 50% humidity..

You ain't lived till you've in a desperate race away from a fire front, hanging on to the back of a landcruiser wagon (composed more of rust than steel), with no less than ten others packed in/on it too..
