So, we all know, or should know, that there are two to three Avatar sequels being made. From what I have read, they are being filmed all at once, like Peter Jackson did with The Lord of the Rings.

So, are you excited about this? I am. Even though the story was unoriginal, the world created was astounding. In the technical sense, Avatar was outstanding. I can't wait to see more of Pandora and the N'avi.

Let's just get this out... James Cameron does not do what James Cameron does for James Cameron. James Cameron does what James Cameron does because he is James Cameron..

I'm a dude playing a dude desguised as another dude. I hate heritics, non-logical thoughts and people who are better than I am. People tell me that they like a lot of games, but I hate them all. Whenever I play a video game, I always go crawling back to Halo 3. Never go full retard!

He says he's doing them at either 48 or 60 frames per second. Should be interesting.

GOAT

Of course.

Avatar was fun to watch, and when you see it in imax... there's nothing like it.

so much this.

I am one of the nerds that saw it three times. Not because of the story, but be use of the spectacle.

I'm excited for it. I did enjoy watching the first movie. Also it's the first movie that I saw where I had a dream about it that night. I was some Navi in the avatar world.

Meepzoid

I don't see why they needed a sequel. It ended with a tight ending leaving no possibilities for a sequel.

Is this supposed to mean anything to my eyes?

And I don't understand why film both at the same time. If he waited to film the third after the second came out, he could take advantage of whatever technology may be at the time instead of relying on current.

I'll still see them, though.

I'm not really excited; the only thing I liked about it was the CGI.

One movie was fine. It was a decent movie and doesn't need sequels.

But, Hollywood don't care.

  • 01.04.2013 8:36 AM PDT

Why Bungie, why would you do this?! - Halo Community

Yes, quite excited. I really enjoyed the original.

  • 01.04.2013 8:36 AM PDT

The first one didn't really have anything going for it besides the CGI, although it was still good to watch. So I guess I will see them, but I swear the first sequel doesn't come out until like 2015/16.

  • 01.04.2013 8:38 AM PDT

I really don't understand why everyone hates that movie so much. I don't usually pull out the "hipster" card but I really think people were being overly critical -blam!-s because of its popularity.

Not sure about sequels but I will see them lol.

  • 01.04.2013 8:40 AM PDT

Well definitely, I had no idea what the movie even was until it came out on dvd. So next time around I am going to the Imax.

The world and technical aspect are incredible indeed, but the story and characters are so incredibly cliche and the political undertones were way too obvious. If there's going to be more they need to be more original than that. I mean seriously,

The badass chick who dies like a badass
The hardball scientist who lacks social skills
The war colonel who just wants to blow stuff up
The guy who sits in his office just in for profit
The guy with a disability who we're supposed to empathize with
The generic harmonious alien species void of human imperfections and so in touch with nature and a spiritual deity
The princess of the tribe who falls in love with the white man but is betrayed by his people
The generic native american vs white man story "humans are bad and take things that aren't theirs"

It's just.... mary sue mary sue mary sue. One cliche after another.

I thought it was 2014?

I could be wrong, but that's what I read... To the Googles!

Welcome to the town of "Diligence." I'm Mayor Due.

Nah, don't care to see the sequels at all. Except for the guy with the coffee mug, happily blowing up the forest, nothing really entertained me.

And I think Mr Cameron really is way to much of an outspoken douche for me to take his movies seriously. I hate having to try and understand his personal beliefs while trying to suspend my own disbelief. Keep the messages to a min, eh James?

  • 01.04.2013 8:45 AM PDT

That's pretty cool. I liked the first one and I'm definitely gonna see the sequels.

Oh great. Now movies are copying from Call of Duty.

Except that 60 frames p/s in a game is different to the same fps in a movie.
it basically means you will come out of the theater having a seizure.(exaggerated)

OT: meh avatar was meh the sequels i dunno they might be fantastic. chances are i'll watch them at some point.

I know I was just doing the typical Flood. Anyway is there really a difference between the way they are now and the 60FPS?

Well okay, the 60FPS is kinda intriguing but ehhhhhh I really can't care about Avatar somehow...
