Subject: People are being forced to give up property and homes in America

This makes me very angry. Apparently you don't have the right to property and can be taken away from you at any time.

This is a good thing.

We need jobs. Jobs. Jobs. Jobs. Even if they are only temporary construction jobs and only affect part of the people who were put out of work.

And this oil pipeline is going to reduce the cost for oil. This company certainly isn't going to ship it overseas to the highest bidder and that this pipeline is going to have no effect on the price of gas.

Also: She wasn't forced.

Yep. It's her fault if she signs something without reading it.

It'll reduce the cost of oil, but we'll pay roughly the same at the pump. No way an oil company would say no to us paying $3.67/gal when they can reduce the cost on their end. More money in their pockets.

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

Buyers remorse =/= being forced off your land.

Cheaper gas means that people will drive more, which means they'll buy more gas.

Scott says she was intimidated into signing a contractual agreement with TransCanada for her land. "I said, 'I ain't signing that,' and [a TransCanada representative] said to me, 'Let me tell you why you ought to, because they are going file charges, take you to court and they're going to sue you. You're going to have to pay lawyer fees, you're going to have to pay court costs,' and God only knows what else they're going to come up with, and I'm going like, 'I am a farmer. I don't have that kind of money. I'm a farmer, for heaven's sakes!"

She wasn't forced to sign it. Maybe YOU should read the article.

But gas wont get drastically cheaper. We wont be paying $1.65. I doubt we'll see it even drop under $3.

Nope. If she was so intent on being against their contract, she should have just not signed it. Threatened =/= forced.

<(-_-)> Teh mokey is not amused

Misleading title is misleading. People implies more than one person and forced implies they had no choice in the matter.

Scott says she was intimidated into signing a contractual agreement with TransCanada for her land.Bull -blam!-, she's just making excuses. If they'd really taken her to court, she'd have won by a landslide.

I paid $2.95 a couple weeks ago - you'll probably see it dip down below $3.00 a gallon in certain states throughout the year depending on world supply.

I still don't see why people complain about oil companies eeking out a couple cents profit per gallon of gas when the federal govermnent takes 18.4 cents per gallon, your state takes about 20 cents per gallon, and your local municipality takes about 10 cents per gallon in taxes.

It's mainly the perception.

Oil companies make billions in profit and get millions more in subsidies from the government. They are seemingly rich enough to do a line of -blam!- of the back of a hooker's -blam!- while on their million dollar yacht.
